I want to introduce myself to fellow DakkaDakka members. I have read articles and taken inspiration from pictures on this site for a few years, but never got round to joining. I have been a member on Bolter and Chainword for 4 years and thought 1 site should be enough, but to improve and show my modelling skills it is time for a new audience.

I have been into Space Marines since WD96 when they were first introduced into the "real" world. At the time I was at secondary school. I have fond memories of painting genestealers and hybrids from the first edition Space Hulk, Deathwing and the third box set ("Genestealer"??? name escapes me - it must be my age!!) when I should have been studying to pass my GCSE's!! I thought the multi positional pieces were brilliant and I put all of my WW2 German tank and soldier kits down and moved into the fantasy world wholeheartedly.

I have created my version of the Legion of the Damned called Legion of the Dead. They have the same paint scheme (flames, skulls etc) but are priced at normal Space Marine PV rather than Legion of the Damned.

I have amassed a huge amount of Space Marines over this time. I have nearly every Space Marine model ranging from the metal Rogue Trader SM figures as well as a few box sets of RTB01 Space Marines, through to modern editions.

The only thing that escapes me is painting time. We had our first son on 18/12/2005 and ever since then (due to not enough hours in the day) I put my paint brushes down and just modelled/converted. With the arrival of our second son on 16/05/2008 I have even less time. I still have all my old paints. What is the shelf life of paint pots?

Anyway, enough about me. I promise to model and convert as many Space Marine themed models as I possibly can - posting pictures along the way.

Speak to you soon,

Brother Morgan

Hey welcome to Dakka. Just reading your post reminds me of me. I seem to buy a lot and never paint enough. Love the hobby though so it's hard not to be drawn in by all the new products. I dropped out for a few years too and I'm sorry to say paints don't live very long if they're left unused so a small reinvestment might be required bro. Good luck and I'll keep checking your gallery for inspiration to get my painting done.
