does anybody knows a chapter(name) with/for space marines with these colors...(see attachment) for making a own chapter....stuck on the name for like a year now...thinking about
raven crusaders or something like that....emblem is a skull with the blood angel wings horizontal attached to it.... probably salamander gene-seed.

I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but when you brainstorm a Chapter name you should first establish which legion it is derived from, then think of a name relating to that Legion's fluff. If you're doing Salamanders you could consider their affinity for flames and craftsmanship, such as 'Guardians of the Forge' or something like that. Just read up on the Salamander fluff on Lexicanum and it will come to you

Here take this link, http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/liber/CantinaChapterCreator.html , will help you get Ideas for a Chapter Name. I'm the same as "Deathly Angel" can't think off the top of my head so I found this here. its a Chapter Name Generator the names SUCK but just click generate until somewhere down the line you see a word that just CLICKs and you know what you want to call your Chapter. I did this and it said, "Shadow Knights" so I stood up and pointed at the screen of my Macbook and said, "and thy Chapters name shall be Shadow Legion, descendants of the Blood Angels, and they shall rule their sector of space with an Iron fist." it might not have been said like that but you get the idea.

okay.... thought of a couple names here.......
hounds of Morrígan
Morrígan's crusaders
disciples of Morrígan
The Morrígana

why so much Morrígan?
The Morrígan is a celtic/irish goddess of war and death... usually takes the form of a raven. She comes to contact with warriors who are going to die a violent death in battle....etc. LINK TIME http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Morr%C3%ADgan <<<<more info about morrígan.
i thought that would be a cool...something..because im in to crows and gak...(there (almost) everywhere here in holland)

anyway let me know what you think ^^

Hmm, not so sure a loyal Legion would make reference to a female goddess figure... or, hell, a female at all... in the naming of their Chapter.

After all, the Emperor was most definitely male, and there are no fem-Marines.

Most *definitely* would not name themselves the "Disciples" of anything that isn't the God-Emperor.

Aye. And on top of it, it's (attention! subjective opinion) a bit too "obvious" for the style of 40k. The setting loves to recycle names of RL mythologies, places or people, but rarely "mirrors" them in a way where they'd mean the same.

How about naming their Chapter Homeworld "Morrigane", "Morgane", "Morigian" or something, though? Sorry, this doesn't exactly help with finding a name for the Chapter itself, but I figured you could still use that thought elsewhere.

Yeah, that would be a much better use of the Morrigane, make it their homeworld, the name of their main Battle-Barge Fist of Saint Morrigane or something, their homeworld's patron Imperial Saint, or in some other way connected to the Chapter, without being directly involved as the name of the Chapter.

Or come up with a bunch of backstory fluff as to why your Chapter has a girl's name...

Fires of Redemption/Vengeance/Fury, Purging Inferno, Phoenix Crusaders. Some chapter names that are somehow related to fire. Goes with being a Salamanders sucessor chapter.

The Cabiri (alt spellings include Cabeiri or Kabeiroi) were a cult dedicated to the Greek god Hephaestus. Later Hephaestus became known to the Romans as Vulkan, where he would go on to inspire Games Workshop's Primarch of the same name. It seems like a great name for a Salamander's successor Chapter.

If they are descended from the Salamanders you could go with a name that evokes either the fire-breathing lizard aspect of the Salamnders, or the blacksmith and forge craft aspect of the Salamanders.

Stay away from using part of a different Legion's name in your own. Anything "Raven" or "Blood" would be bad, since everyone would immediately assume some connection to the Raven Guard or the Blood Angels.

So for a name, may I propose "The Disciples of Crom"? Their home planet could be called "Cimeria". You could name their battlebarge "The Riddle of Steel".

.... I'll stop now.

mmmmnnnhh....what if.....the emperor had a lover(Morrígan)......and the only one that knew about that was...his lover...tales spread people seek truth..came across a legend of a goddes who seduced the emperor of mankind..and brought war to him and death to his enemies....etc.
ultramarines are probably inspired from the romans or greeks...why only one god then....what if....there are more gods but those didn't evolved from a legend, to a fully recognized god... any objections?

Worshipping any god other than the Emperor, or even aknknowledging the existence of any god other than the Emperor, is Heresy. Even a Space Marine Chapter couldn't get away with that.

As for the Emperor taking a lover... well, we know he had a lot of children over the millenia (and I don't mean the Primarchs) but the Ecclesiarchy refuses to accept even the possibility that the Emperor knows what a woman looks like naked. So, again, Heresy.

Actually they do acknowledge the existance of the Ruinous Powers, I can't remember if there is a specific quote of someone calling them the dark gods or the like. But you're absolutely right that in the Imperium, you're either worshiping the Emperor, or you're not worhiping anyone. And only Space Marines get that last option.

Imperial Saints OTOH, are completely kosher. Just have her be a general of one of the main expedition army groups during the Great Crusade. She fights along side the Emperor in some action, gets the planet named after her, and 10,000 years later has become a saint. Drop your parental chapter into the picture to save the planet from something or other, and have them develop some sort of close ties that lead to a chapter being founded there sometime later. If it's a techhead chapter (IH or Salamanders), slap some archeotech down and have them guard it.

Yeah, but Caliban is/was a planet, not a person or even a figure of legend. They're also yet another so-mysterious-it's-mysterious-how-mysterious-they-are Dark Angel Chapter.

Personally, I think they're more Alpha Legionnaires having a laugh.

Nah, the Disciples of Caliban are known. There's no mystery about them, outside of why they were formed. Many Foundings are done for specific threats or purposes(one of the theories put forward about the Blood Ravens by GW themselves in the Index Astartes article no less, for example, is that they were founded to combat a specific xenos threat that was destroyed so completely that no records exist) and allowed to flourish afterwards.
