Hey I just started playing 40k not that long ago, and now I want to try to get my family into it also, My brother and dad both are heavily into war games (not 40k though) they like to play risk and axis and allies a lot, I don's see either of them painting though, I just want to be able to play friendly games at home against more people than my 1 friend who doesn't even play that much, sense their both into WW2, I thought I might try to get into Flames of war or something similar....any suggestions?

Buy them an AOBR set to split. Ref a few of the games between them in the beginning so they don't just jump in blind and let the hobby grow for them from there.

Worst case, you are out 100 bucks if they don't like it, but will still get all the models in AOBR for your horde/bits box. Best case, you now have 2 more 40K players under your roof.

I seccond AOBR, all in all its not too big of a gamble if your playing 40k and they dont like it, you'll be able to keep the stuff for yourself to reuse later. Another idea, Since you said their into World War 2 settings, if you want to try something alittle different then purely historical, Look at Dust Tactics, its an alternate WW2 setting, prebuild and primed. It only has rules for a boardgame type right now, but their working on a tabletop rule set too.

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

My brother is a little interested and pants from time to time, but he wants me to play soem more games with him before he tries playing against others. My 9 year old sister also likes to paint with me, she wanted to do Orks of all things.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?
