In your head, screwing with your thoughts...

Reasoning for the unorthodox points is to accommodate my extremely limited selection of Khador models. This list was designed for use by one already somewhat familiar with the rules, while still simple enough to play with and light enough on nonbasic stuff for a beginner who's played similar games before; hence the absence of any solos/units.

Cryx - 16 points

pDeneghra
Deathripper
Defiler
Slayer
Slayer

Khador - 16 points

pSorscha
Berserker
Destroyer
Juggernaut

My reasoning here is that Denny has the focus to maintain 4 jacks, provided you don't expect to be loading all 4 with focus each turn, and having 2 Slayers as opposed to 1 gives you the killing power necessary to actually assassinate while giving Cryx a better fighting chance against the opposing heavies. Meanwhile from the Khador side, the inclusion of a Berserker gives Khador both a roughly equal amount of jacks to work with as Cryx gets, and still allows Sorscha breathing room with focus. (as the Berserker doesn't require focus to operate well) Another benefit is that it gives Khador more jacks than Denny has debuffs to hand out. Cryx has the mobility, while Khador hits like a sledge. Just like their respective factions. Having said that, I haven't gotten to playtest this from either side of the table, and so I'd like to know what Dakka thinks before I whip this out in public.
(Alternately I can swap Sorscha for pVlad, but I haven't considered the balance of that as I haven't ever actually gotten to use him. Comments on this course of action are welcomed too!)

EDIT: As Kirbinator has pointed out, I made a minor miscalculation on points cost by undervaluing the Destroyer, skewing points slightly in Khador's favor. I suppose the easiest solution is to swap the Deathripper for a second Defiler, but I'm not so sure that's the best option. Alternate ideas are given in my next post down and any other comments/ideas are more than welcome.

The Khador list looks like it's 17 points, not 16. That said, I suppose these look relatively even beyond that. Crippling Grasp will bring one of those heavies to a halt and tossing Parasite + concentrated attacking on another will wreck the Khador heavies.

Likewise, if that Destroyer or Berserker gets a hold of anything in the Cryx list it is toast.

Ooh, that's a miscalculation on my part then. For some reason I calculated the Destroyer at 8 points.

How about this modified list, then?

Reasoning for the unorthodox points is to accommodate my extremely limited selection of Khador models. Cryx - 18 points

pDeneghra
Deathripper
Deathripper
Slayer
Seether

Khador - 18 points

pSorscha
Destroyer
Juggernaut
Juggernaut

This matchup isn't too drastically different, though it might be too skewed in favor of Cryx now with the addition of the Seether and the loss of the Berserker's focus efficiency.

Another possibility, though this is going a little far into the proxy side of things (which can be confusing) is maintaining the original Khador list at 17 points and swapping one Slayer from the original Cryx list with a Reaper. This, I fear, also skews things a little towards Cryx and does a little more towards complicating things, though I suppose IF the harpoon shot goes off it'll teach proper fear/respect/admiration for Cryxian shenanigans (depending on who's playing Cryx at the time )

Any other suggestions are more than welcome.

The Seether dies to a stiff breeze. It is pretty much the definition of the Cryx glass hammer. Losing a node actually will make it a little easier for the Khador player.
