So I have been playing alot of Fallout recently and I have been wondering how to make Power Armor that looks like the Brotherhood to use as my Space Marines. I thought I could make shoulder pads out of GS and use marine legs but I don't know where to go with the body and let alone the helmet.
Ideas?

The T51-B or T45-D (or even T46-C)? The former probably would be pretty simple to convert (seing as they'res a bit of overlap between the 40k design and Fallout one). Just shave down the details a bit and accent the muscles a tad and a basic marine should be a decent aperture. If your going for the T45-D it may be better to use a plastic Cadian as an apeture (the preportions are about the same if you true scale it a tad) and greenstuff the hell out of it, as that's the only way to get a decent enough looking one as far as I can tell. My own heavy weapons "teams" in my guard army are a mixture of the visual style of the T45-D and Kereboros Panzer Cops armour (plus a bit of the N7 Goliath Armour from Mass Effect 2). ^^

I was going for T51-B just getting those details is killing me, and I really don't have that much skill with GS but I was going to make this project where I would get better. I can definently see how a cadian could work for 45-D he may just be a little small for a marine but not to bad. Thanks for the help.

I've seen a conversion or two before but I'm having no luck finding it. When Fallout 3 came out there were almost as many threads talking about Brotherhood of Steel Marines as there were for Spartan Marines when 300 came out. From what I can tell, it would be a very difficult conversion that would have more to do with scratchbuilding than converting.

You coud also use the mostly bare chest plate in the tactical marine squad box. You just need to shave the skull.

@Brother. Yeah I have seen some before but all I can seem to find now are things that make your guy in New Vegas a Space Marine.
@marine. I'm not 100%s sure since I didn't keep that half of my AoBR but I will look at my buddies
@Phantom. That could work...that could work very well.
Now it is time to scrounge for weapons that could double as boulters and energy weapons.
Thanks everyone!

I just got hold of a load of space marines yesterday and your tempting me to convert a suit of T51-B out of one of them...
Oh, and here's a conversion I found on Warseer of a T51-b (though it really could do with some greenstuffing). =P

That doesn't look too bad. Defiently need to redo the fan on the back but I could do that with GS. Helmet is necessary (it would just feel wrong to not have the T51-B helmet).

Its the Advanced power Armour Mk1 that has a fan on the back, T51-B has a crank for removing the suit.
...And yeah, I just started modelling a suit of T51-B over dinner there. Pity the base mini was in a bit of a mess on account of the previous owner. I think I'll finally find a use for that spare MP-5 I have alying about. ^^
Anyhow, I already have a few NCR lookalikes kicking about in my Imperial Guard army as my other heavy weapon's team-as I said in a previous post, my carapace vets are in suedo power armour.

Ah I have to admit that I started with Fallout 3 and then picked up NV. I have the orginal for PC but haven't played it yet. But a BoS vs NCR recreation of Helios One could look cool plus I could make it an interior scene and use the board later for one of my groups interior battles.
I meant that the crank looked to big for the model although I know exactly where that one came from.

Yeah the crank's more to scale with the Van Buren 3D model's than the newer Bethesda ones. Its from a power plant piece of terrain right? Everyone seems to have that thing...but its so terrible no one ever bothers to use it. =)
NCR Troopers can be converted easily from your basic Cadian-just scrape off the chest and shoulder armour, plus the skirt, and sculpt some basic armour plates on. Simple.
Eugh, and I totally forgot how Marine's were so badly preoportioned. The BOS Palidan that I'm making right now is probably going to use more human scale parts than marine parts just so I can keep the preportions realistic. =/

Actually I was going to say it looks like the piece from a Basilisk that goes near the gun barrel and lets you lower and raise the gun without touching the barrel from behind. Yeah mine were going to be humab size as well as marines are just to big and bulky for these guys.

The marine torso works fine enough for the scale, as you'll most likely be shavng it down rather than bulking it up- btw the thing's a hell to shape properally, as are the upper pauldrons. Cadian arms work well, just shave off the cloth and reshape the shoulder pads a tad near the bottom-I'm using the sergeant ones on mine for ease and to show off the torso, and on the pluss side the chainsword can be shortened to make a ripper.
Heh, nah its from a terrible piece of terrain that almost every wargaming club of reputable size has tucked away at the back of their terrain cupboards. ^^
Oh and here's a good image of the armour's mesh if your looking for one:

Its all under the T51-B page. =)

Nice! Thanks for the picture that really helps visualise it. The marine or termi-legs work it just looks more like a guard torso with that breastplate...that helmet still makes me cry and my marines refuse to go without helmets as I read in all the BT fluff where they yell at people for not wearing helmets. I my also sculpt a backpack and make a shishkebab as a power sword.

Heh, well I've used Guard legs, arms and head, and a marine torso for my own one- the Marine legs just look ridiculous with the new torso. ...I may also have gone for the Recon Armour Hood look, rather than making him a helmet as...as it was a bit late and I couldn't be bothered making one (and yup, the T51-b's used a different undersuit than the T45-d's...but youknow =D). Did I mention the hammer? Yeah...he's got the Fallout 1/2 era super sledge (the one that was made by the BOS, not Fallout 3's which is pre-war...and totally isn't a fluff breaker), which I suppose being a giant neumatic mallet makes it a perfect thunder hammer stand in.
Now that you mention yelling at people for not wearing helmets, my guy appears to be charging at the enemy yelling at them for just that reason (being from the Californian BOS he's a massive hypocryte and all). ^^
The BOS tend to stick with using pre-war tech that they've salvaged, and thus if your a fluff whore it may be an idea to stick away from giving your guy a jury rigged, duct tapped together flamthrower sword. ...Though it would look cool, so youknow, who care's about the fluff. (There's a thread on here I think-or was it Warseer- which concerns converting one. I think it was the one about making an Ash Wastes Nomad gang for Necromunda out of minis converted to look like the Raiders from Fo3). Don't forget to give him either a 10mm pistol, submachine gun or plasma caster and count it as either a bolt pistol or plasma pistol....just for extra cheese.
...Hmn, I'm playing Mordheim tonight. I wonder if it'll be a bit out of the question to have this guy running in out of knowhere and counting as an Ogre just to screw with people? Fluff reason? Uh...well....did you ever play a game called Talisman?

I actually have some stub pistols that I was going to use as bolt pistols or "10mm." I was going to make plasma casters my plasma cannons and I like the look of the new super sledge so that will be a thunder hammer. Gotta green stuff the helmet. I like the guard legs and arms with the marine torso for scale. I can see how the shishkebab breaks fluff but I don't know what else to use for a power sword...Oh and I love Talisman so very fun.

I know you can make laser rifles out of tau guns (i.e. pulse cabines) and miniguns out of tau burst cannons. Also, I know it might not be fluffy, you could make assault rifles out of lasguns and bolters.

Hmm I actually could see a knight using an assault rifle so that could work but I really like the idea of carbines as laser rifles...def gonna have to sculpt on the mods from NV so I can have my charachter running around...Thanks for the ideas Phantom!
Does anyone have an idea on how to do a Gauss Rifle? Or for that matter what it could be 40K wise?

Gauss rifle as a plasma gun or lascannon? It'd take bit of work to make one, probably having it based off of a bolter (the original Fallout one would probably be easier to make this way, as its held and looks more like a rifle than the Fallout 3 one). =/

plasma gun would be a plasma rifle but a lascannon hmm that could work. Probably use the manportable and add a scope from the nobs (or maybe boyz kit) and go from there I'll post some pics of what I have come up with soon.
