Looking for veteran knowledge of the uses for drazar in a DE list. I have had a very good general and friend play him a few times and he seems quite nice, the things that he can do can give anyone a bad headache.

Anyone here used him? Tried him out and stuck with him long enough to really test his potential?

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

My DE playing friend uses him in a squad of Incubi along with a Shadowfield Archon as an assault unit.

Does he also have 'Shoot Me' painted on to everyone in that unit + their Raider? That's an insane amount of points in a single unit and it still gets messed up by some units because Drazhar and the Archon kill the same things Incubi kill. You can only kill so many Marines before it starts becoming overkill, and Incubi can just about do that by themselves.

Anyway, the main problem with Drazhar is his points cost, or more specifically his points cost relative to other choices available. For 10pts more you can get Vect, who is significantly better in terms of killing power, more flexible because he can join stuff other than Incubi and gives you the 4+ to seize which helps any army. The only possible area Vect is worse is his survivability, but only against ID attacks (which you can and should shield him from where possible) because otherwise the extra wound, 2++ and ability to regain wounds makes him much better.

I used Drazharr in a battle once when my friend lended me his DE, I put him with a squad of incubi who got killed VERY quickly but then drazharr just went on a killing spree!
From what I've seen, the best way to use Drazharr is to put him in a unit of Incs, 5 strong at max to save points, pop them in a raider with a flickrfield, dont bother with night-shields cuz your gonna be gettin nice close and comfortable with your opponent, and have fun Definitley worth taking IMO, after all he is a phoenix lord...

The Twilight Zone

I had Drazar rip apart my tau gunline almost single handedly, killing about half of my points on his own. He was with 5 incubi in a raider. Shot the raider and killed the Incubi, then Drazar proceded to shred through me.

I kinda think Drahazr isn't really all that different than taking Draigo. (though Draigo is probably a little better) He will just kill stuff all day long. Put him in a small incubi squad like the man said, and just be careless with them, just stick them in the middle of the enemy as fast as you can. They'll take a big chunk out of the enemy, eventually the incubi will die, and Drazhar will just keep going, at least for a while.

I would take him but as its has already been said, vect is just so much better. If you must use him then take a look at dash's turn 1 assault tactic

The only time I have use him is in a themed Incubi army and he did really good. I just like the other options for DE for HQ. I would rather take Vect or Haemonculi, or even duke for 1850ish games.

They’re basically an entire chapter of Chaplains. CC lunatics. What every Space Marine should aspire to be, if not trapped in a Matt Ward nightmare.

No he isn't. Ahara or something like that is, he fell to slanesh. Nobody really knows who Drahazar is.
