Food for thought as I see alot of the same armies, Does the Mods. wanna make another forum or sticky for a codex/army book mast post on general army ideas. Alot of the Skaven posts are the same responses as they are asking the same question, along with the GK and Chaos Daemon stuff.

Please no stickies. Hate going to a forum and having to scroll down just to find the first new thread. The search function works great and those that want the stickies for their armies can always go to their army specific forums like Underempire, Ogre Stronghold, Bugman's Brewery, etc.

I don't like this idea. The army list I post may need different feedback than a list from someone else, even if it is the same army and points.

I guess I wasn't suggesting just 1 army list as much as the general stuff that EVERY reply has and I realize all my examples are going to be Skaven but that is what I mainly read on here.

Army needs a BSB.
Only one doomrocket per army
Gutter Runners are cool in 5-8 with poison and slings.
Jezzails suck.

I am not as up on other armies to do this from the hip as I am Skaven but if you read the army lists, while some are exact, there are alot that are "I am new hit me with general knowledge." Just a thought and I was just trying to explain for those that did not understand what I was trying to say.

No way around those types of posts, sadly, short of appointing a "newbie mod" to go around deleting those threads and directing the OPs to the appropriate existing tactica articles/threads (possibly attaching a form letter explaining the benefits of the search function and asking specific questions). That would also likely require effort on behalf of users to make more and varied contributions to the articles section, so everyone has somewhere to which they could rightly be directed.

Yes, those threads get old, but so do all the other recycled tropes that seem to crop up at regular intervals. It's bound to happen, especially when there are so many new users joining daily. I'd love to see the articles section get some more love, but I won't even pretend that would end those kinds of threads, even if the new users are encouraged to go there, first. The youth these days don't like to do their homework, first - they just jump straight in. I blame the internet. And the rap music. Now, back to my rocking chair on the porch. You could always write articles or collect this information in an article and
direct people to read it.

This is what the article system is for. Many people have posted articles containing tactics and unit breakdowns for a lot of 40k armies. I suppose there are some done for fantasy as well, but don't know for sure.

Kind of sounds like he is asking for the warseer style tactica threads here on dakka. They can be helpful, but very quickly become so huge that the valuable information gets lost in the mass of text. Some of those thrresds have a hundred plus pages and over 5000 posts. Reading through a mass like that takes forever, and there are often many conflicting messages. Also for a newbie just reading the start of one of those can be very daunting.
