Recently while trawling Lexicanum i came across some info that puzzled me. The page on "Space Marine Legions" have a 7th successor chapter listed for the Dark Angels named the Angels of Damnation. Now the chapter page itself doesnt have anything to say apart from the fact that its listed in the Chapter Approved 2001 book and ive never heard mention of this chapter anywhere else before. Is there any other Information available on this chapter or has it been reconned out of existance?
Update: Actually put the name of the chapter i was talking about... Which i forgot. Duh...

Since you didn't give us a name, I assume you mean the Angels of Damnation. Yes, they were listed in Chapter Approved 2001, but I believe it was only a passing reference. (As in, so and so got his fanny handed to him by the Angels of Damnation, a Dark Angels successor Chapter.) There's quite a few Space Marine Chapters on Lexicanum that have this same problem. I am sure that some writer will eventually get around to them.

Oh i didnt even put the name in... how stupid am i? wow what a mistake to make. But yes that is who i was talking about. I did kinda figure it was just a passing reference but i couldnt research it further due to the fact i dont know anyone with a copy and have no clue how to get my hands on one. But thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I rarely even see copies of Chapter Approved. You might ask some of the veteran 40k players in your area, and failing that, keep your eyes open whenever you see a used book section in a game store.

I've got the '01 Chapter Approved - hate to tell you, but there's no info besides the name. On p. 117, it's listed under "Later Foundings," along with these other "Angels" - named chapters:
Angels of Damnation
Angels of Penance
Angels of Purgatory
Angels of Repentance
Angels of Retribution
Angels of Vigilance
Angels Penitent
Angels Porphyr
Angels Redeemed
Angels Repentant
Angels Resplendent
Angels Revenant

Just the names, unfortunately. They offer suggestions for elements of other Space Marine chapter names - I guess they were tired of seeing 12 year old kids with chapters named "Angles of Kick-Assedness."

Eh?
There's quite a few that are well-known and have been in existence since the mini-dex at least. Angels of Absolution and Redemption, for example.
The latest codex added quite a few more and fleshed them out a bit to boot. "Disciples of Caliban" are by and large my favorite.

Maybe reading the DA codex would help, it has a two page spread of those in the unforgiven.

Angels of Kick-Assedness will never be as good as Angry Marines! The lowly chapter will always fall short.
