Welcome to the herd. I am also a new beast general. I like it, I think the 10 Beastigors however are a little light. With great weapons they strike last so you are already looking at not having 2 full ranks not striking back.

Lord is solid at this level, though you could add a hand weapon to make him more killy with beast banner and buffs you can rack up some kills so Jagged Dagger might be nice, especially lacking the herdstone/shaman spam for power dice.
BSB is cool, I would add a shield, 2 pts for +1AS and Ward Save in combat is a must. Gnarled hide is cool too at 15 pts this with the heavy armor and shield gives you a 2+ armor save.
Gors are awesome.
Raiders are cool.

Here is my 1k list:
Great-Bray-Shaman -Additional Hand Weapon -Jagged Dagger -Talisman of Endurance - 244
Wargor -BSB -Heavy Armor -Shield -Gnarled Hide -The Beast Banner - 206
Gor Herdx40 -Full Command -Additional Hand Weapons - 345
Ungor Raidersx6 -Musician - 38
Razorgor - 55
Razorgor - 55
Harpiesx5 - 55

If you are looking like I am to save some cash you can convert razorgors using boars from boar boys/savage boar boyz and bits from Chaos Spawn and Harpies can be converted as well a variety of ways. As you get higher in points you'll want about 2 Razorgor and 10 harpies on hand 2 run 2 units of 5 for war machine hunting and tying up units for a turn while your gor handle other units, typical divide and conquer. Razorgor are good for the same, as well as flanking and wizard hunting directing all attacks at a wizard and they get stomp attacks.

It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

GBS wont be affected by the beast banner, its just the bearer and the unit

As long as he's in the same unit as the Banner Bearer, the GBS would most certainly be subject to the banner.

Page 99 of the rulebook: Whilst a character is part of a unit, both he and the unit (including any other characters that have joined that unit) are treated as a single combined unit for all rules and purposes...

and Page 100: Special Rules.....many spells and magic items bestow special rules and other effects on units. In this case, everyone (including the character) in the combined unit will be affected.
