Hey,

Something i need to check before i start using that sort of set up; it states in Slicuss' rules that whenever trueborn or warriors are in the army he needs to deploy with them, altough the FAQ tell us he deploys as a IC when not...
What happens if I lets say deploy 5 trueborn in a venom. So there is no more place for sliscuss. So he cannot legally deploy with them, will he then deploy as an IC??

thx

If all you have is 5 trueborn with a venom dedicated transport, then Slicsus will have to deploy with them and they will not be able to begin the game in the Venom. Once the game has started however the trueborn can hop in and sliscus can go to a different transport (provided there is room.)
Hope this helps.

As above.
In fact, if you took the 5 trueborn and had no other Kabalites in the army, you would not be able to take a venom for them because,

1. Sliskus must be deployed with them making them a unit of 6 models.
2. In the DE codex, you cannot take a transport for a unit if the number of models in the unit is higher than the transport capacity of the vehicle.

Actually I believe you still can take a venom since the squad that it is for is still only 5 models, and the issue with sliscus occurs at deployment.

Hmmm, giving it more thought, I believe you are correct.
I was thinking about this FAQ;

Q: If an Independent Character is going to begin a
game joined to a unit when should this be done? (p48)
A: You should nominate which Independent Characters
are joining units at the start of deployment before you
place any units on the board. Note that this should be
done before you nominate which units are being held
in Reserve, Deep Strike or are Outflanking etc.

I thought that you would have to join Sliscus to the Kabalites when the army list was created, but you are right it is at deployment.

So you could take a unit of 5 truborn, give them a venom, and then at deployment place the trueborn and sliscus on the table and place the venom on the table empty.
Then in the first turn you could embark the trueborn onto the venom.

They just could not start the game embarked in the venom because sliscus would have to be joined to them and there would not be enough room in the venom for 6 models.

Right and although this is what would have to be done it is dangerous in that you small expensive squad is sitting in the open if your opponent steals the intiative or is going first.

I disagree. The purchasing of the transport happens at during army list creation. Siliscus is not joined until deployment.
