Evening,

I'm currently assembling the lovely new black dragon for my Dark Elves, and have come across a minor problem. I don't want to glue the wings onto the body as then it would make storing the beast a major pain, so I'm looking at a way to leave them unattached and fix them in place for gaming/display.

The wings themselves come with pegs moulded onto them which I assume is to facilitate this very thing, as demonstrated to me in my local GW, however mine don't seem to want to stay in place at all, in fact they're really loose and just drop out.

Can anyone advise me on how you keep your wings on without glue (if indeed you do), I think I may have to have a go at magnetising them, but I'm not sure where is best to buy in small amounts (UK). I also considered a blob of blu-tak inserted into the hole on the body for a lo-tech solution...

General comments/advice appreciated.

Cheers

A quick solution- put a tiny bit of greenstuff in the hole and lube up the peg, force it in, pull it out and let the GS cure. That'll tighten it. You may need to adjust the fit once it's cured a bit.

That's a really good idea thanks for that! I may well give it a try tomorrow.

Try tightening the holes with GS, like winterdyne suggests. If that still doesn't hold well enough, you can always add supplemental pins to the molded-on posts. Alignment will be crucial, as you'll be drilling into a socket on the body, by the sound of it (no experience with the model, myself).

Thanks also, I'll try to do this later this evening and post back with the results.
