Another piece I did a while ago, this one using mostly Folk Art and Apple Barrel paints as well as a home made light sepia wash. Criticism always welcome.

That's a very nice yellow you've got there. I'm not a huge fan of the red fingers and I prefer my Crux Terminatus to be a stone or bone color, but the quality of painting is very good. The base looks a little unfinished though, since it's pretty much all looking like the same color. Just a few drybrushing layers will take care of that though.

Very nicely done. I bit simple, but then again some GW miniatures have so much detail that at a distance they look like they were rolled in flock. An entire army painted to this standard would really be something to be proud of.

Sadly I can't finish the base on him as my 4 year old claimed the model as a toy and I haven't seen him in months!

Only thing I can say is that it looks like it could use a bit more contrast. I had a huge problem with this at one point. Everything looked great when it was a few inches from your face, but the minute it was 2 - 3 feet away, the highlights were so subtle that they got lost! Base is WAY cool! Other than that, looks great! (I couldn't resist, but it really is outstanding)

I agree that the highlights don't show well at table length. They are subtle even at this range. This was my first attempt at the white whale that is painting yellow.

Maybe try doing highlights as straight white instead of yellow. I was going to suggest a heavier wash, but I went and looked at it again. I think a darker wash would probably take away from it.

It's an ugly planet. A bug planet.

Looks great. I always find the fists a bit too bright yellow for my liking, but you have done a good job on this one.

I wanted the wash to be as subtle as it is, otherwise it would just look like a standard GW wash when it's actually a custom home made wash using Les Bursley's basic concept.

I agree the highlights could stand out a little more.
