Found a great deal on a green GW army figure case, only to discover that it had no foam inserts. I know the GW sells three of the trays for $20, but are there better ones? Or maybe a better deal, maybe eggcrate foam?

Just looking to see what people have used to fill them, at least to make this case a good deal.

their stuff is awesome and cut to shape.

yeah they can, if your ordering custom, you download an order sheet and on it you can specify the outer dimension sizes of your tray,
on their home page in the top right corner is a custom foam creator link
i recommend double checking your sizes though

KR multicase makes foam that fits in GW cases, and it's invariably cheaper than Battlefoam. They have 1" trays that hold 50 figures in the space of a GW case. You can easily fit 4 of them in said GW case, and effectively double the carrying capacity of the case. Here's their page for GW sized trays:

Checking out KR multicase foams now... one quick question: How tall is a Land Raider? Would the 70mm deep pick-and-pluck work? or would I have to use the 110mm? I'm at work right now...

A little off topic but are the GW carrying cases worth it? I would like to get one for my WHFB HE army.

I ordered from them last week, and you're right, their site is a bit rough. I'm hoping what I ordered is what I needed, but at least I'm not getting pegged for shipping, so if I screwed up, I can always order a new piece. One caveat though, I believe they are making their foam block estimates on the smaller Figure Case, half the size of the Army Case that GW produces. Like I said, we'll see when the box arrives!
