My first fantasy army, I've decided, is going to be Orcs 'n Goblins. This is both because I like the models, and because they were very convenient to get - I happened to find a large cache of old Heroquest miniatures, and I decided I wanted to try and use the figures in it for greater things than gathering dust in a shed. Now, they're hopefully gonna gather dust on a shelf.

So, I started Zargon's Orcs. Zargon is going to be the Great Shaman leading the charge eventually, but while I'm still in the 1000 points range i decided the orc behind the Waagh! can stay hidden for now. But, to get it out of the way, for fluff purposes, I decided Zarbon's been gathering Orcs from all over the land with his strange ability to 'Bring them gits over 'ear!" So, he ended up with a strange creature called a Vimir in his band (Which, until I get some, will be counts-as Black Orcs), and eventually he'll pick up a few more colorful additions to the warband.
Of course, this all hinges upon having a collection of boys to start with, so as to that purpose here we go!

Some example models, sans paint.

Primed guy standing next to the Warboss.
Oh, right, I should probably explain the Warboss I've got. Another model I found cleaning out an old shed, I thought it was cool and kept it around, but had no idea what to do with it. About two hours later, I had the thought that, "Y'know, dual-wielding lances like that, sounds like an orky thing... "
So I cut the dude's head off, added a great deal of Milliput, shaved off some leg so he'd more fit with the WH models, and added the orc bit with a hat I had. And, somehow, I lost the pictures with the entire process on 'em. Sad. So, we'll just skip to the model being primed.

An orc and a gobbo, blocked in.

The boss, all blocked in except for the beast's hair, which I had forgotten.

All done up good 'n propa. I have no idea what the goblin on the right is doing, I was a little tired at the time.

Well, whaddya think? It's a start, eh? I'll try to finish up the boss' banner, but I'm not sure what I want their symbol to be except an orky Z maybe. I've definately got plenty of orcs to start painting up, though, so i'll start posting pics as I get the horde together.
