Hey guys, I was hoping to get some feedback on my half of a 2k list for a doubles tournament I have coming up in a few months. My partner is a Beast an player who is bringing a bray shaman, war gor as the BSB, 2 units of gors, giant unit of bestigors and a lord but I have forgotten his choice already. So basically my job is to provide the heavy firepower and magic.

Grey Seer - 240

Assassin - 120

Two identical units of 20 clanrats with full command and and poisoned wind mortars for 165 each for a total of 330.

3x Jezzails with Sharpshooter Team - 70

Doom Wheel - 150

Warp Lightning Cannon - 90

I figure since he's got the beefier core, I can use more of my points with the war machine. Usually I run massive groups of clanrats so the small groups feel out of place. I wanted more but the two weapon teams were must haves. Another idea I had was to run a warlord and some engineers for some basic magic. We're running ETC rules as well.

I am unsure why you have taken an assassin but maybe you just liked the model. Also I would swap the mortars for warpfire throwers but thats mainly a personal preference.

You going for competitive? If so drop the Doom Wheel get a 2nd Lightening Cannon. Drop the Jezzails and increase those clanrat units to 30-40. Drop the Assassin and pick up an engineer with Doom Rocket. I'd get some protection on that gray seer as well some kind of 4+ ward save would be ideal. If you do have left over points a bsb is pretty nice too.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

I took the assassin for a surprise but like I said earlier, I was thinking of changing it to an engineer or something. The special rules for an ETC format tournament make it so skaven are restricted to 0-1 of all rares hence the one doom wheel and one cannon or else I would have taken two doom wheels. Also, I am restricted to 250 in Hero points since so I cannot take any magical item over 10 points. And only one of us can have a BSB.

I do like the warpfire throwers a lot... they were originally in my list and I've personally never used the mortars but another friend of mine suggested using them since they have the range and he's had great success with them. I'm still going to test out revisions of the list for sure.

It's been interesting trying to work a list around the restrictions.
