As it says above I need help finding orc tactics as Im a newbie to fantasy and have a idea of a night goblin and black orc army and want to know some tactics for orcs. So Im wondering If people could kindly chuck down one or more notes of tactics about anything in the orcs and goblins army. Even if its the very basic of orcs and goblins

Yes but I mean tactics by want units can support each other, what units can go with each other and work best with and other stuff.

Heres some questions which Im curious about.

can you fit units within other units like anarok spider within spider riders. boar chariot within boar riders and giants within orcs mobs(black orcs) or goblins?

And is the azruag the slaugther attached to his wyven as I want to add a black orc warboss on the wyven?

And what is the rank thing about?

Something I have found is agaisnt other melee forces you can just sit there and pound them with lobbas and doomdivers, than once they get close enough you realease the fanatics then charge with your boys the next turn to clean shop.

Against shooting/ranged based forces you should utilise units like spiderriders and wolf riders to sweep forward early while your foot slogging boys and gobos have more time to get across the field unharmed.

to answer your question no you cannot mix units liek that, characters that are not on monsters can join units even if they are mounted on like a boar or wolf, however you generally want to keep your characters with units that are the same troop type (infatry with infantry cavalry with cavalry)

also with orcs and goblins alot of your armys performance is going to be on how effeciatnyl you build your list, and your asking the right questions to btw (what helps what, good combos, etc etc)

that being said rallin gave some really good points, against other CC armies your going to want to bring some seige equipment, it helps soften em up for ya, against ranged armies things like cavalry inparticular wolf riders work well for getting around behind the main force and tieing up warmachines so that your guys dont take a huge pounding.

Also some things to think about is when you are composing your lists, i persoanlly run all orcs no gobbos save for war machines and shamans, thats jsut me though and i make it work by realizing we are a horde type army no matter waht way you go about it OnG are a horde, we do not have the greatest troops in the game, orcs are good with toughness 4 but what really makes our troops shine is what we get for a whopping 6-7 points a guy... instead of trying to equip them with shield and spears or whatever to get more milage out of the unit i just run tons of boys with 2 handweapons, your orcs are going to die, and against certain things they are going to die by the handful lol so simply make sure that you have tons of boyz on the feild and if 20 guys die in one turn i cna still say owell i still got 160 for you to chew through yet lol

also orcs and goblins is all about fun your guys are going to fight eachother and throw temper tantrums on the feild lol plans will get botched for no particular good reason, these are jsut things that come with the army and it still works great haha

The reason I asked the question about mixing units is because I saw three kroxigor serounded by shinks on the GW website.

And one more thing would an army of spider riders and arachnaroks with some spear chukkas and black orcs be an effective army as it be a fun army to use.

I've already spoke in a simlar threat, Orcs and Goblin units tend to be really cheap for what they do, but have the added element of unpredictablity which makes them harder to manage as an army.

The Kroxigor's are allowed to be taken with shinks, since their rule book states that. In here, and in general unless stated otherwise, the unit will typically consist of simlar models. The closest example that is in this codex that breaks that rule is charcters (You could put a goblin big boss in with Orcs and likewise.) or Squig herders.(two different units working as one.


As for suggested, I don't know, you would be greatly lacking in numbers simply because none of those units are that cheap by orc standards. It would probably be only fairly large games that you could field the spiders and remain fairly balienced in list selection, though it is a very cool concept that is worth drafting some lists up of and working it out from there.
