I'm making a converted chaos blood pact army. My commander will be Urlock Gaur, but I cant seem to find any good drawings of him online.
From the Gaunt novels, all I know is he wears a power armour with spikes. Does he have a beard, bald head, what kind of weapons he uses? Anyone got any ideas?

A goat's theme/baphomet comes to my mind, but I know that its not correct. I would reccomend CSM parts (possibly even doing a terminator just to have him stand out more, lazy way of doing it), and going for the spikiest bits you can find. Then take plasticard or GS, and blade-up the rims and edges of his armor like crazy. Go for something that looks like a jaw-full of shark's teeth. It might do to consider some posessed parts. When you are doing the trophy rack, don't just go for the obvious skulls, don't forget to do at least a single hand; the couple of other random body parts, i feel, go a long way to adding to the chaotic trophy taker look.

What a coincidence I am going to start a blood pact army as well! best idea I can give you is go for your gut feeling. The novels say that he wasn't a choas space marine traitor (correct me if i am wrong). So he is lickely to be a human, so he isn't going to be as bulky as a spacemarine. I would go for the new chaos sorcerer kits that came out for storm of magic. They sort of look power armourIE.

I do belive that he is a Chaos space marine, so a basic Terminator lord with adequant modifications would be well suited I think. It also says that his armour is jagged aka lots of sharp edges. So this could be a intresting conversion

I wish to see the efforts of sonsofvulkan and Tech guard, especially on the Urlock Gaur model.
My dream army is a Blood Pact IG conversion.
Any thoughts on doing the walkers/other vehicles they use? Chimera and sentinel conversions etc?

Dave_salmon: maybe use some ww2 tanks as transports (1:48 scale works well). Or some ork trucks converted to transports. But as far as stalk tanks go I have no answers.

I've seen a few images on google img of scratch builds of the Stalk tank but they seem too spindly compared to the the image I built in my head.
One day, a Blood Pact army with armour will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

Urlock Gaur is a Chaos Space Marine who wears power armour (presumably stained red with blood and covered in marks of Khorne). The Blood Pact apparently get their scars from slicing their hands against the sharpened edges of Gaur's armour, so that means greenstuff those edges to be extra sharp and add the odd spike or two. I'd true-scale him just for effect-as the marines in Abnett's novels are meant to be giant superhuman warriors, making the average man look like a child in comparison...like they should be...and well, marine's just look wrong left untrue-scaled.
Do you need to have Gaur as your leader? I mean he's the head honcho, unless your wanting to field a huge army full of loads of chaos marines and the cream of the crop of the chaos legions...it just wouldn't seem right. Gaur has plenty of liuetenants chucking about and by using one of them you can do what you want to them and create your own backstory for your warband rather than having to come up with ways of bending the fluff to explain why Gaur is with warband X fighting enemy Y etc. =P
Oh and if your starting a Blood Pact army check out the blog at DaveTaylorMiniatures.com, the guy's got a really neat army, and plenty of cool conversions. ^^

Heh, and I always thought of the STeG 4 as a light tank. Now that its been pointed out that its a armoured car...its a little obvious. =P
Edit:
Oh, and I just found a really cool blog of a Sons of Sek army that includes some (ex) Blood pact elements-At-80's, soldiers etc- that you should really check out if your wanting to make a chaos army (I'll be making some of the tanks as they fit right in with my own Guard's theme of old style tech).

same sons of vulkan, I thought that he was'nt a chaos marine. This is because he was a gaur of the blood pact making him a human, I think.

aur was a warlord in the lawless space outside of Imperial domains. Just because he's the founder of the Blood Pact doesn't automatically say that he isn't a marine, in fact there's a fair few aspiring champions of chaos who've formed their own warbands of human cultists-ie the Lost and the Damned list. If he's wearing power armoured its assumed that he's a marine, both due to the fact that his warband contains a hell of a lot of marine allies-Word Bearers, Iron Warriors, Khornate cultists....- and the question of how a warlord in wilderness space could end up with a suit of human sized power armour (though he could be a giant, thus he would be the size of a marine........). Actually I think that its actually stated on numerous occasions that he's a damned astartes or the like. ...What I'm trying to say is well, why the hell not is he a space marine?
...And the Blood Pact contains mutants, xenos and daemons...being human isn't one of the checkboxes on the employment application.

Yeah, but I think I remember reading that he was an astartes at one point. Damn you Lexicanum for your incomplete character resources. Meh, either way he's still going to look a hell of a lot like a chaos space marine. =P

I think he is khorne gifted human warrior, not space marine.
The exact origin of the Blood Pact is unknown, but it is generally held they originated some 3,000 years ago on a planet known as Ghourra, sometimes pronounced Gaurra, at the edge of the Sabbat Worlds.
At that time, the tribal society of Ghourra was ruled by a feudal overlord, or Gaur (sometimes referred to as 'Ghour' or 'Gour'). The Gaur surrounded himself with an elite priesthood who conducted the ritual observances by which the Gaur made tribute to his god, Khorne. This militant-priesthood evolved over time into a bodyguard force which practiced its martial skills as diligently as it had once conducted its simple bloody rites.
As the Gaur's influence grew and spread to neighboring worlds, it was this bodyguard force that led his conquering armies. It soon became a mark of respect to be 'bloody-pacted" to the Gaur. Numbers grew, recruited from vassal worlds, and the bodyguard force eventually became an army in its own right; the current Blood Pact.
