I just picked up the Yu Jing starter, the rulebook, and a Hac Tao, and I'm wondering what I should get next. This puts me at:

-Shang Ji (Combi Rifle & Light Flamethrower)
-Domaru (Boarding Shotgun)
-Celestial Guard (Combi Rifle)
-3x Zhanshi (Combi Rifle)
-Hac Tao (Missile Launcher)

Total: 198 points

I'm looking to ultimately expand to 300 points, and I was thinking of getting a Ninja with a Sniper Rifle (mainly because the model is cool) and/or some Tiger Soldiers. Any suggestions from those more experienced with the game than myself?

Also, my first love, and the reason I got into Infinity, is ALEPH. All I know is that it's the big AI created by Pan Oceania. I really want to learn more (what are its motives for building an army for instance) but I cannot find a copy of "Human Sphere" to save my life. I've tried Amazon, Ebay, The War Store, even the Infinity website. Nobody seems to have it in stock! I guess it's out of print, but I'd really like a copy (new if possible) and I'd really appreciate any guidance as to where I can get my hands on one.

Thank you for any input!

Aleph is either humanity's protector, or humanity's future overlord, depending on whether you believe it's truth/propoganda

There's a lovely ambiguity in the fluff about it - though being a Nomad player I have to lean towards it being a future AI dictator

As for the models - I'd get the Tiger soldiers. If you like both models equally then the Tigers are an absolute staple of Yu Jing, whereas the Ninja Sniper is more of a rarity. So I think you'll get more play out of the Tigers, so you might as well get them first.

My vote would be for Hsien with HMG. HI with BS14, with MSVL2, with HMG? Yes please.

I would get one other Celestial guard since they are AVA 2 and they're awesome for the points they cost. If you end up doing the Imperial Service sectorial, you can have five of them linked.

A Ninja with a sniper rifle is probably the best model in the entire Yu Jing army. I'm kind of surprised you can actually have two of them.

Hac Tao with a heavy weapon is also a beast.

Tiger soldiers are pretty epic as well. I'd field at least two and the HMG is a sweet model.

Thanks so much for the input.

I'm thinking about rounding out my force like so:

Tiger Soldier w/ HMG
Tiger Soldier w/ Combi-Rifle
Guilang w/ Sniper Rifle

Total: 101 pts.

The sniper will help give me control over open spaces, and the Tiger Soldiers will be the mobility in my force (that's the plan any way).

The Celestial Guard will probably end up being my Lieutenant, as I'll be able to use my heavy hitters more aggressively (not worring so much if my Shamg Ji bites the dust, etc.).

I'm pretty sure I've made a legal force, but with so many big guns do you think I'll run into issues with numerically superior armies, or should I be able to control them between my missile launcher, HMG, and flamethrowers?

Again, thanks for the advice! (^_^)

A couple pointers for list building.

#1 you get 1 SWC per 50pts you are building with (if you plan to play 100pts you get 2 swc, 150pts 3swc)
#2 you must have a Lieutenant (guess you meant the Tiger Solider however with him dropping in you will be at loss of Lt to start the game)
#3 You want to get as close to 8+ orders as you can per combat group or you will be order starved pretty badly

The #3 you won't really get till you play your first match, but 1 and 2 are required for a legal list. With the list you posted you will be at 4SWC and 101 pts. Staying along the same lines I would recommend somethign to the nature of...

Sorry, I may not have been clear- Those models were going to be added to the seven I had listed already. I'm looking to get the force to 300 pts, and altogether that would put me at 299 pts.

Not sure the Guiland is better than a Ninja. Ninja has TO camo where the Guilang has the L1 Visor.

I prefer the guilang to the Ninja personally. It's a good bit cheaper and the MSV is almost as useful as the difference between TO and ordinary camo imo.

I'd get whichever you like the look of.

I don't think you need to worry that much about numerically superior armies - people will usually have about 10 models because of combat group order pool limits. If they do split into two groups of 8, for example, then they'll have more orders but will have to be much cheaper models and your AD HMG will work very nicely on them.

The Guilang is awesome and it works very well with the Daofei. Both cammo markers in the center of the table... perfect for 200pts battles.
