Well my Guard is ready for Ard Boys, here goes.

HQ
CCS Alpha 3 plasma guns, Regimental standard, Officer of the Fleet, and Astropath inside a Chimera
CCS Omega 4 melta guns

Elites
Guardsman Marbo
2 PBS with 6 psykers each both inside a Chimera

Fast Attack
3 Vendettas

Heavy support
1 Manticore
2 Leman Russ Demolishers

Troops
2 Melta vet squads with Demolition doctrine inside a Chimera
1 PCS with quad flamers inside a Chimera
3 Infantry squads with AC
2 AC HWS
1 SWS with demo charges
1 SWS with melta guns

The 2 HWS and 3 infantry squads are on foot.
The 2 SWS and CCS Omega ride in a Vendetta.
Everybody else is in a Chimera with the total # of Chimera=6
If circumstances dictate different squads can ride in the Vendetta, the most likely candidates being the PCS or Melta Vets.

Options for change are limited by models, if a model is not in my unused list it won't be available for ard boys.
Unused models are
1 plasma gun
2 Melta guns
1 Hydra *note however it's swapping a Hydra turret for a multi laser, including the Hydra will scrap 1 Chimera*
Enough power weapons to turn the infantry into a power blob

Right now it comes to 2495 points. Here are my options

Option #1: Keep it as is, give the PCS junior officer melta bombs.

Option #2: Scrap a Chimera and 15 more points somewhere to include the Hydra, but this will require the 2 Demolishers to go into a squadron. I'm not sold on this idea because I don't like the idea of a 320 point squad, shooting both cannons at the same target, and being wrecked on a 4.

Option #3: Scrap an infantry squad to turn the remaining 2 squads into a power blob.

Right now I'm thinking option #1, and am a little on the fence about option #3.

If your limited by models it doesnt leave much room for improvement. I'll try to suggest a minimum of things you dont have.

Drop all of your flamers, your demo charges on the vets, your demo sws, your melta sws, and your ac sws. I imagine this is well over 300 points. With the points I'd definately consider blobbing your static element. Two of two squads each will still give you 4 ac's that wont die when something takes a piss in their direction. Either give your PCS good guns or use them as a speebump, in which case you can give their chimera to your CCS melta squad. There should be points left over. Don't spend it on junk. Still, to me this seems like a small 2500 point list.

Cutting 4 squads and 3 out of 6 chimera would create a completely different list, and it would be close to 500 points in cuts. That could buy a lot of powerblob, but I am not interested in running multiple blobs for a timed tournament. My list right now has mobile mewch elements, and static infantry. Mobile infantry is good, but it slows the game down too much, and the odds of a major victory/massacre are better when the game goes 5+ turns instead of 3 or 4. If the game ends on an early turn odds lean more towards a minor victory.

Thought about it some more...

Thinking of doing the following.

Dumping the tri melta sws for a quad melta pcs
Move 1 infantry squad into platoon #2
Dump 1 hws for a 4th infantry squad with an ac.
Add an ac to both vet squads.
And that puts me 5 points over budget.

Maybe I will downgrade 1 or both demolishers to a vanilla russ.

OK think I am settled down on my final list.

HQ
CCS Alpha 3 plasma guns, Regimental standard, Officer of the Fleet, and Astropath inside a Chimera
CCS Omega 3 melta guns and a regimental standard inside a Chimera

Elites
Guardsman Marbo
2 PBS with 6 psykers each both inside a Chimera

Fast Attack
3 Vendettas

Heavy support
1 Manticore
2 Leman Russ vanilla with HF

Troops
2 Vet squads with triple meltas, an AC, and Demolition doctrine inside a Chimera
1 PCS with quad flamers
1 PCS with quad meltas
4 Infantry squads with AC and a flamerl
1 AC HWS
1 SWS with demo charges

The 1 HWS and 4 infantry squads are the only units that are on foot, everybody else has an available transport.
The 2 PCS and 1 SWS ride in a Vendetta.
Everybody else is in a Chimera with the total # of Chimera=6 all with HF
KP=25 if squads combine
10 scoring units with room for 9 in transports
Long ranged firepower=manticore, 2 leman russ, 3 vendetta, 9 infantry based AC, 6 multilaser, and 2 PBS
Short ranged=13 meltas (most BS4) 3 plasma guns(bs4), 6 demo charges, 8 flamers, 9 heavy flamers, and flashlights
