Hey Dakka,

I'm playing a game with a friend at the moment and he's using attack bikes.

I have placed an objective on the 3rd story of some ruins that are on the board. Are his bikes able to go up levels and assault my men holding the objective?

It was my understanding that bikes have to stay on the bottom floor, and are unable to assault up levels.

Thanks!

No, check the ruin rules which specifically state what unit types can move up levels

This is a disadvantage of bikes.

I'd probably allow that they can contest it, but RAW they would still need to be measured as in range to do so.

Bikes, cavalry and beasts cannot go up levels.

Jetbikes CAN, though (DT tests though).

If I'm playing an objective mission against a biker army, that's where my objective goes. Up high.

Yep, I'm a sod like that. If I can't win, I can at least make it harder for you to get a clean sweep.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Back in the day crew and bikers could leave their vehicles. Once armies in the 40k universe started fusing butts and hatches, the normal people also lost the coordination to hold something in hand and run at the same time. Sad times, but at least the foot troops seem to have gone through their physical therapy.

"A rule is only as good as the reasoning behind it."

I played Ordo Malleus since before it had a codex.

Lol, true dat. I was seriously puzzled the first time someone showed me who can't go up ruins in the BRB. But that was back when I thought rules had to make sense in a practical application.

I will split your thoughts open!
