Greetings to all! Only been in this for a few weeks now, but I have added new photo's of my new work. After taking advice from many excellent artists on this very forum (thank you very much) I believe I have better style then when I first posted my work. Please check it out and leave me any feedback that could help me boost my skill that much further. I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks again!!!

Hey, fellow noobie here. Ive also only painted 3 figures.

are you thinning your paints down? Its been the biggest help for me. Easier to manage and looks much cleaner on the mini.

I would also hold back on the black damage, as it looks a bit like the paint is flaking.

Also try putting some white paper behind your minis when you take pics it helps see them easier. Good start though.

You know you can post your pictures directly to the forums. Just copy the "forum code" and paste it in your post, and BAM! they will apear. Kinda like this.

You should post your images in your thread as opposed to having people hunt the images down in your gallery page. To post an image, right click on the image you want and click "copy image URL" or "copy image location" depending on the browser. Then, type ["img] paste the image URL here ["/img"] without quotation marks. Alternately, when making a new post (not quick reply) there's an image button. That automatically writes the img tags for you and you can just paste between then.

Your paintjobs need some work. It looks to me like you're painting Blood Red straight over black. This doesn't work. Red is a fairly thin pigment and should go over either a red foundation paint (Mechrite Red) or white primer. Also, if I'm not mistaken, you're painting over gloss pant? Never, ever, for the sake of your sanity, paint over gloss. It doesn't cover well at all, as it is too slippery a material for paint to stick onto effectively.

In short, I would recommend the following:
- Matte black primer. You can get Krylon, Rustoleum, GW, whatever - your local hardware or autoparts stores will have it.
- Mechrite Red foundation paint from GW. Foundation paints are a special kind of paint with very thick pigment meant to paint over black in one coat. This will help immensely.
- A detail brush for eyes and whatnot. The eyes in the first mini posted look sloppy, or like you're using a slightly too large brush for the task.

Sorry if I'm coming out very critical, but there's some base-level stuff you need to learn before you start painting. Once you've got the materials you need, then you can work on brush control, detail work, and what have you.

For a first few marines you've not done badly at all. I think it's certainly worth taking brother SRM's advice particularly regarding undercoats. But your brush control seems ok to be going along with so i'd say the only advice i'd add is to make sure to remove all the flash from casting as it can ruin the best paintjob...and keep trying! I learn something new every time I paint

Thank you comrades! I appreciate all the advice I can get, and the props hehe. As for the gloss paint, that is what I started out with. I went to local hobby store and picked up what I thought I would need. Turns out after my first few marines, I completely despised them. So I went to the games workshop site and ordered up a storm of paint. And that is what you see on the Terminator's and Brown SM. I also picked up a couple detail brushes offline as well, due to the one I had was total poop. As for the undercoats, what do you mean? Also, what do you mean (BrotherOmas) when you state remove the flash from the casting? I really dont know what that means haha. Sorry, I'm still a newbi. I started the Terminator with Black primer, then used Mechrite then created my own red mixing a few of the citadel colors to come up with the red I was looking for. I am all ears here, so by all means enlighten me as to what I am doing wrong and what I can do to make it right? Thanks!

The brown guy is just a tester type. He is going to go to my own personal chapter, that I will later come back to after my Blood Angels are done. Please, leave some feedback. Its my first time and I am eager to move forward in bettering my skills.

I agree, but he could use a little highlighting. If you were to do that, I would reccomend a dark red. Looks really cool though. Nice job.

What type of dark red are you speaking of Ninja? How would you suggest highlighting it? And thank you for the props! I'm still not sure of myself in my work, so I will take all the positive comments possible! haha

The Flash is the excess plastic, metal, resin etc that escapes into the thin join between the two halfs of the mold. It's little tags and/or lines that run along the models..they can be gently scraped off using a modelling knife or similar...
