Well, for those of you that don't know, HoN has gone free to play. Those of you that play League of Legends and/or Dota may be familiar with HoN.

Just as some friendly advice, if you play LoL, HoN has a much steeper learning curve, and is a lot harder to play, so don't get discouraged if you get obliterated in your first few games. It takes some time to learn the shop, and the Heroes. Just keep in mind, the Heroes are a lot stronger in the game, as they are meant to scale throughout the game. The community is also probably the worst community in gaming. If you ask for help though, they tend to be a bit nicer.

Overall, as HoN adapts to it's new free to play model, Expect a lot of raging, and growing pains. It's still a great game though, and I would gladly reccomend it.

Well, it's not off to a good start.
I downloaded the client, but it just won't boot up.

Well, it looks like it just took 30 minutes for it to actually notice I clicked on it. Not off to an amazing start when my PC can run most games on Max Settings.

I had the same problems, Wolfrun. My enthusiasm still hasn't built back up to the point of firing it up- I hope it runs more quickly than it installs.

It's like DotA the custom Map from WC3/TFT.

The technical term is MOBA, I believe.

I don't like HON much, it going F2P shows a sign of weakness to me.

I'll stick with LoL, and, eventually, DOTA2

Sign of Weakness? Micro Transactions have shown to generate a huge amount of profit. I think that's more of a sign of a changing business model than "Weakness" There is nothing wrong with trying to generate more profit.

I'm curious though, if you're waiting for DOTA 2, then why don't you like HoN?

I've been playing it and it seems to be alright.

The only problem I have is that some of the community are as bad as XBL-CoD children.

It'll suffice until DotA2.

Probably because I have so much time invested in LoL, to be honest.

Nothing against HON, I agree that the F2P business model seems to be the future for games, and should generate a large amount of people to HON, which I heard was a dieing game prior to going F2P.

I'm liking the look of Rhapsody, as I enjoy support heroes. I imagine MoA will take quite a bit to master though.

I totally should have bought this damn game when it wasn't F2P, when it was on sale for $10.

You may be able to buy a legacy account on Ebay, I've heard people are selling few on there.

Really, for the amount of time I've put into it, 30 dollars was well worth it.

I read today that DotA2 is going to Retail for 50 bucks, so I imagine if that's true, HoN and LoL both have a good, long life ahead of them.

We will have to play sometime Karon!

I've heard that HoN is doing financially better than LoL.
