Anyone have suggestions on how to paint Word Bearers to a good quality? I've painted my Bloodletter pack this weekend and am ready to expand into my Marines. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

hmmm word bearers...
if I remember correctly, don't they have crimson armor with silver trimmings?
I would paint the armor scab red, wash devlan mud, than highlight with a mix between scab red and something like bleached bone or another brighter red such as red gore
as for trimming, boltgun metal washed with badab black the highlighted with boltgun metal or mithril silver makes sense to me

Quick search on youtube and I found that Girlpainting has a tutorial on how to paint world eaters, not exactly what you want, but it should help with the reds.

undercoat black or with a red krylon.
base colours:
scab red
boltgun metal
wash with black a couple of times.
shade raised areas with scab red and boltgun again
highlight with mithril and blood red (i used the vallejo version)
trim with any gold you want.
this is how the first batch turned out.

Thanks all. Looks like I've got several options to choose from, so I'm considering them all. Hopefully I'll be able to get 750 painted for my Word Bearers and Tau in the next few months so I can start my campaign.

Don't know if it makes a difference, but I ended up priming black, painted the main armor in Mechrite Red, armor and bolter trim in Boltgun Metal, washed in Badab Black, redid the red in thinned Blood Red, highlighted all of the trim in Mithril Silver and did the eyes in yellow. Not the best paint job by any means, but it definitely yielded a very worn look that I was after. Thanks again to everyone for their help.

It may be too late, but here is a WiP shot of my latest WB, showing just the reds I used:
This was achieved with a black basecoat, then a mix of black and scab red, working my way up to pure scab red (with a couple of black and devlan washes in between) and the brightest parts are scab red with a touch of kommando khaki mixed in. Hope it helps.
