I know Codexes are notorious for using phrases that can be interpreted differently from Wargamer to Wargamer, so I had a question about equipping Space Marine Assault Squads with melta bombs (which Im pretty sure is worth it) When the Codex says, "The Space Marine Sergeant may take melta bombs for 5 pts, does that mean I have to put my melta bomb on my sergeant and he is the only one who can put it on a vehicle, or does this mean it applies to the whole squad? What do I have to show with the WYSIWYG? Im very confused and it would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me.

The sarge has it, and yes only he can attack with it. WYSIWYG, it is the small bomb shaped thing on a lot of the space marine sprues, but I can't really imagine anyone having a problem with them not being modeled on.

It means exactly what it says: the Sergeant may have meltabombs. Since he's the one with meltabombs, he's the one that can attack with them. Simple

As for WYSIWYG, this will vary between gamers and groups. As with all upgrades, you should represent it on the model (if you don't know what it looks like, look it up on Google Images), but most people I know are pretty lenient with grenades. As long as it's clear which sergeants have meltabombs and which ones don't, you should be fine.

Older books like BT can still buy Melta Bombs for everyone in the unit. Compare the phrasing there if you are unsure. It's pretty clear only the Sergeants get them and use them n 5th-Edition books.

SW scouts can get them. IIRC its' 5pts per scout.

So worth it for SW scouts though. Having scouts take out tanks is awesome!

All Marines (5) in command squads can take them for 5pt each

Cant tell you how many times I've had Kharns landraider get blasted from command squads and meltabombs
