Hey guys,
Had a game the other day where I cast the hurricane on a unit of warp spiders this means that they need to take a dangerous terrain test when they move.
Now do they take the test before and after jumping? As the book says that a jump unit starting or finishing its move in dangerous terrain must make a test.

It states any unit starting or finishing its move in "difficult terrain" must take a test, so he'd take one from hurricane, and another if he starts or finishes in terrain

The order really doesn't matter, because the test doesn't stop movement, it just wounds them.

How does it matter if they test before or after?
By RAW he has to test before, otherwise the unit is not allowed to enter difficult terrain.
edit: n/m this is only for difficult terrain. Dangerous is tested at the end.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

They take one test regardless of how many DT effects they suffer and test after moving.
Jidmah, you are thinking of Difficult terrain methinks.

Sorry misses out that the spell requires both a difficult and dangerous test to be made. So for normal guys it would slow them down with the chance to wound.

For Infantry:
Take both tests. Difficult to see how far they could move and Dangerous to see if any die.
For Jump Infantry:
Take one test. They ignore Difficult when moving and test for Dangerous when they land.
When assaulting, both types would take both tests. Difficult to see if they could get into Assault, and if able, Dangerous to see if any die while moving into Assault.

I thought the rule was "upon entering or leaving difficult terrain jumpacks treat it as dangerous"?
Am i wrong or can someone clarify.

That was our confusion as it sounds as if they are leaving difficult terrain (the Hurricane) and also landing in it (the Hurricane)

The rule says "if a moving jump infantry model begins or ends its move in difficult terrain, it must take a dangerous .."
So the question is, did the model begin or end it's move in difficult terrain? Yes. Take a dangerous terrain test.

I hope this doesn't deviate from the OP's intended question, but isn't it correct that if a squad doesn't move they never take dangerous terrain checks? What I mean is, if they stayed stationary they wouldn't take a test, but if they moved (either starting and/or ending in dangrous terrain) they would take one test at the end of their movement phase. Can't find my BRB so I can't throw around page numbers ATM.

The issue is everyone here is helpfully misquoting it.

Raythor, you are correct. If they do not move at all they may stay in it without testing.

Cheers! My blood angel friend will be very happy with this new understanding. I honestly must have missed that section. Thanks for the clarification.
