Subject: Punisher VS Executioner

IG has many tank options and many variants of those tanks. Ive heard that the Executioner with plasma sponsons is great from just about everyone. But no real deffinate answers on the Punisher. Mind you, both tanks are fielded with Tank Commander Pask, It is my belief that the punisher earns its keep when it comes down to killing MC and pesky troop squads, while the Executioner is alright when shooting at the same targets.
The main difference is the scatter. The Executioner scatters while the Punisher just unloads.
Which do you think is the best IG tank and why?

No. Punishers are Str 5 AP -
I think that both tanks are great, and I try to use both of them. With Pask in the executioner, the scatter is bearable, and the Punisher is much better at being an infantry killer, what with its high volume of shots.
The trick is, IMO to put sponsons on both tanks. Plasma on the executioner, bolters on the Punisher. to unload even more pain.
Either way, when they hit, they can really bring the pain.

For the love of Hvy Stubber sponsons! You almost always have to keep the punisher on the move, which limits the sponson effectiveness. However the Executioner is better at eating up more points with wizbang sponsons which you might get a chance to use. So to answer your question.... The Executioner wins by still being cool after almost 100Points in upgrades!

the executioner is expensive and situational, but sometimes worth it. You'll almost never make back your investment with the Punisher. With a punisher, you could get an LRBT that has thrice the range, more versatile firepower, and isn't much worse against weeny infantry for fewer points even with sponsons. The Punisher is one of the worst tanks in the IG codex.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

Punishers are terrible, and Executioners are very effective but costly.
Any thing a Punisher cannon can do, a standard Russ can do better or at least similarly well.

A punisher with stubber, bolter hull and bolter sponson can lay down some hurt, but the executioner has range. The punisher with pask gets a lot of shots, and if you're shooting a MC thats most likely more than 200 pts for one of those. With reroll to wound on MC, that makes it pretty scary.

Yeah, but you'd likely get a whole lot more out of 3 hydras for fewer points and far more versatility.
