Dipping With Wood Stain

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of adding scratches to my warjack and was trying out one method, where I layer 4 different colors to get the desired affect. I just finished my first test piece and was wondering, if you have some critique or suggestions for me. Especially I was wondering if I overdid it on some areas and the whole effect now is too cartoonish.

Looking forward to your feedback,

Cheers

yeah that's a bit too much or at least for that much it isn't weathered enough(rust, dirt etc). Less is more with wear and tear like that.

A little over the top. Just paint over some of it to make it go away.

Definately too much.

Remember to not just do the edges, but also the middle of the plates as well. Also remember that the scratches should be scaled just like the miniatures, do the scratches as if a 28 mm sword or bullet made them. They look very thick and large right now.

Unless it's part of the vehicles that would receive extra abuse, it's a little much.
