Cost:15 points per model
Unit is composed of 5-15 models
Digga boy WS4 BS2 S3 T4 W1 I2 A2 LD7 SV6+
Nob WS 4 BS2 T4 W2 I3 A3 SV6+
Wargear Drill
Special rules: Furious Charge, Mob Rule, Waagh, Deep Strike, Diggaz
Diggaz: At the start of movement phase, digga boyz may dig deep to the ground.
Remove the digga squad from table until next turn, then they may enter the game
using deep strike. When they enter the game via deepstrike and are in contact with
enemies place a large template to the point where they enter, then every model
which is under the template suffers a str 5 ap 5- hit then move all models back
so that the digga boyz may enter the table. Also after that digga boyz may assault the squad.
Drill: power wepon
One digga boy may be upgraded to nob at 10 points, he may replace the drill with power klaw
for 10 points, he may also take 'eavy armor +5 points and Bosspole +5 points
For every five models in unit you may take bigshoota for free, or a rokkit launca or burna for
+5 points

I like it, it's quite goofy. I only have a few problems with it. To start, it should take them a lot longer to dig to the enemy than it takes a flyer unit to fly high and land across the board. There should also be some serious downsides to a deep-striking Ork unit with power weapons.
My suggestions:
Whenever the unit is taken off the table to dig, place it in reserves. The unit only enters from reserves via deep strike on a 4+ each turn, regardless of which turn it is. Navigating underground is not easy, and any ork crazy enough to dig his way to the enemy is likely to get lost and not show up on the battlefield at all
Deep striking and charging immediately also seems a bit too powerful. Keep your rule as is, with the S5 hit and moving the enemy unit off the template, except the enemy unit is automatically pinned, and the Diggas can't charge.
Maybe just take out the ranged weapon options altogether - make everybody dig!
What do you think? Too nerfed?

Sounds fun, but as Calgars suggested I would put a limit as to how far they can deep strike from their starting point.
Assaulting the turn they enter also seems fairly powerful, however I can see the consequences if they were left open to a turn of shooting!

Leave them open to shooting, but give them a 3+ cover save for their first turn, since they're still crawling out of the hole.

But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? |

Good points you made there, well those ranged wepons were there so that they wouldn't be totally left out if they cannot do anything else than try to shoot, but ofcourse they could be taken out. However I think that it's rather vital to them that they can assault that turn they enter, because with their non existing ranged and poor defense they would just sacrifice themselves every time. And ofcourse there could be either some ranged limitation to their digging, or then again some orky d6 table.

Perhaps let them strike at initiative 1 when they go into combat, as they are disorientated from all the digging? That may balance it out a tad.

Or they always count as assaulting through Terrain, since, well, they're assaulting through the terrain...
But yeah, sounds fun. Probably a Fast Attack slot? Like a Nega-Stormboyz.
And call 'em Drillaz, or Diggas, not just Drills.

Orks have pretty low initiative, so that would only mean that they will get upper hand when fighting something which is not CC unit, So I don't think theres any point changing it, and also, it would need a skilled warrior to hit something thats coming under your feet.

Maybe a modification of the Terror From the Deep rule that, what is it, Mawloks, or Trygons get?
I think you have something like that there, but just as a base to measure from for something burrowing under.

If the unit's under half maximum size, it's a small blast template instead of a large blast template?

How about having a marker that you move, but after moving it scattering 2D6 inches, and the moment it hits an enemy squad, the diggas burst up from the centre of the squad? This could add some balance and the good old orky randomness, as well as giving a tactical use; chasing the enemy. Do you risk your fire warriors get PWND up or move the away from the 18" threat zone and sacrifice long range shooting?
