I have a standard dread which I am looking to convert, but I am unsure which direction to push it. My questionthen to you is in the Blood Angels codex which Dread is better and in what situations do you use them?
The ranger; 2 TL-AC
Furioso (not sure on specs)
Librarian (also not sure on specs)
Death Company (needs the DC to even be chosen which some view as a negative in itself, also dont know specs)

I always use him as a Librarian with wings of sanguinus and blood lance, he goes around killing tanks and using his force weapon to kill enemy tooled up HQs hasnt failed me once. Main problem is the unpredictable nature of blood lances range but i can live with it.

side question is the twin-linked version assault cannons or autocannons? and just double checking is it legal to play in that configuration?

You can take twin linked autocannons on dreadnoughts, no twin linked assault cannons.

This really does depend on the list you are taking. I usually take Furioso Dreadnoughts if I'm doing Mech Blood Angels and especially if I take Stormravens. I could also see someone using Rifleman Dreadnoughts in a BA army, even though we have better shooting. I've done it before in friendly games and its fun sometimes to use them.

In terms of BA, I'd take a Furioso Dread w/ blood talons transported by a Storm Raven. This guy is absolutely mean in cc.
