Hey I'm thinking about getting back into fantasy. I have an IOB high elf armyx2 but since I also play eldar it is alittle bland to play with the new VC releases I thought it might be a good time to start the undead army i've always wanted. HOw do they play? Are they any good.

Depends on if you want to play hardcore competitive or not...
If you do, then you're pretty much stuck running Ghouls for core, Grave Guard in special, and your choice of Rare units. They're kinda cookie cutter in making lists. They are pretty competitive though, if you use their cheese build. Grave Guard with the Banner of the Barrows, Great Weapons, a Wight King with the Drakenhof Banner, and a Vampire Lord with the Helm of Commandment...you get GG with 2+ to hit, 2+ to wound with killing blow, and the whole unit gets 4+ Regen. It's just about the nastiest deathstar in the game, but it's really vulnerable to magic (Purple Sun, Dwellers) so you have to bring a Dispel Scroll.

Pretty much what Uber said. Grave Guard death star is nasty, but if you focus invoc on them then they should stay full health most of the game, even if a nasty spell goes off.

Blood Knights are quite good as well, although the models for them are slowed expensive.

WTB a vampire head bit so that I can convert some!

I already have some of that stuff lying around so maybe I'll try it. I think I"ll buildthe cheese list to have it then have some side board stuff for more fun games. Playing cheese isn't always fun. It's true I've thought about the Blood Knight but at basically $100 for five they need to look better and they should do my laundry for me, dance, or be strait up mechanically animated or something to justify that.
