Like the title says. I am experimenting with VGC after losing all of my GW paints in a trans-oceanic move. I'm liking most of what I'm experiencing with them, though I'm finding it difficult to hit the sweet spot between "watered down" and "wash". I'm finding a lot of the colors turn glossier than I am used to when dry, particularly black. Is this typical of VGC paint? Any tips for mitigating it other than spraying everything down with matte finish when I'm done?

Hmmm try puttting a thin thin layer of water on the bottom of a tub, and then put a paper towel over it, the towel should absorb just enough water to water down the paint, but not make the paint runny.
Hope this helps.

The rarefied atmosphere

I've not had this problem and I used VGC nearly exclusively (their scab and snot don't suit me). Is this something that can't be solved by a typical matt varnish?

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
