There are two coils each about 6" long IIRC but they are tightly packed, you can spread them out really quite a long way. With 3/4 of a coil I managed to do the perimeter fence of a Precinct I built:

They are terribly expensive though and there is a guide somewhere on the site on how to make really cheap razor wire. I'll find a linky!
EDIT: there you go, really easy barbed wire that also looks fantastic, mind the fumes! http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/The_simplest_barbed_wire_ever.

If you want a ton of Razor Wire, Army Painter sells huge coils of the stuff for like $6-7 USD.

It is quite a bit, depends what you use it for. For bases... it will last a long time, big terrain projects.... maybe a day.

As it happens i found some the the army painter razor wire today while buying some paint. Got 2.5m (15ft approx i think) for $12. Far better value then the workshop stuff.

You got the better deal, but I'd seriously consider other options for future projects. Army Painter and GW's offerings are a similar style - thin wire wrapped around a thicker core - which doesn't look particularly convincing. In fact, it barely resembles barbed/razor/concertina wire, at all. I would never use the pipe cleaner method in the linked tutorial, personally, but even that looks better, to my eye, than the wire-wrapped wire coils those two companies sell.
If you're going to spend that much money, it's not that much more expensive to buy photoetched brass razor wire which will look infinitely more realistic. Personally, I make my own barbed wire. It's obviously more time-consuming, but the price is right (wire is cheap) and the result is quite convincing. With a little practice, you can crank out enough for a small terrain piece or a handful of bases in a matter of minutes.

Actually, it looks far closer to concertina wire than you think Oadie.
It also has a big advantage over the photoetched brass parts.
It's not sharp. For a display piece? Photoetched all the way.
For gaming? Let's go with the one that won't cut people up quite a bit and get blood all over the tables/models.
