Evening Dakka Dakka,

I've decided to make the move over to here from The AmmoBunker after seeing some of the fantastic work on this forum, some of you might know me from AB where I also go by the name Maelstrom. The AB seems to be on the decline as of late so figured it would be good to move to a fresher forum as well as getting more involved with my blog

So to introduce myself I figured I shall post up some of my previous projects as well as a few of my current ones :

Sons of Sek, inspired by the gaunts ghosts novels and the artwork from the sabbat worlds crusades artbook:

only got about 10 or 11 painted and only about 20 converted before I got bored. Way to time consuming to make :(

Tau Kill team that I contributed to the Ammo Bunkers "Poisoned Chalice" board at Games day UK 2010

Onto more recent projects, I no longer have the patience for whole armies as I tend to lose interest very quickly so lately its one off conversions and smaller scale warbands what have been my focus mainly a slaanesh themed cult of the possessed warband:

Random converted valhallans:

My next project is heavily inspired by 2 great threads on here Pimp my Wizard 40k and Pimp my sorcerer 40k after seeing the inspiring work in those threads I figured I would have a crack at making my own, so I have the plastic chaos sorcer lord on order and intend to convert him into something like this:

well thats my introduction over, any questions or comments are more than welcome guys I shall hopefully get the sorcerer in the mail tomorrow so can begin work on him

glad you like my stuff dude, I know what you mean about multiple forum accounts getting messy, I'm goign to try to stick to just being active on one forum from now on I think haha

right as I promised its time to show some WiP pics of the Ad mech conversion, it has changed a bit from the original plan mainly because he is now goign to be an arch Heretek instead of loyalist Ad Mech, heres the heavily WiP pics and then I shall talk about them:

Right although he is chaos aligned my idea is that he uses it as a way of accessing warp based tech as well as for protection such as working with a Chaos Traitor Legion or Warband and thus is protected by a lot of angry Astartes . With this theme in mind I didn't want him to be too heavily mutated, so he will look pretty much like a loyalist tech priest but with chaos influenced Armour and symbols.

The main thing I'm adding to give him some character is Xenos tech, my idea being that no longer tied to the strict mandates of the Ad Mech he can experiment with alien technology. So he has an Eldar plasma grenade as well as various bits of Tau tech on his belt.

The mechadrites are very much WiP, using thin Florists wire as the basis for them with my rather clumsy plastic card skills for the claws at the end of them I have plans to make him a pair of servo skulls too.

Well thats it for now guys, as ever let me know what you think
