Vypers are a wee bit overpriced but, you have a unit that can move 12" and shoot their 12 str6 scatter laser shots, and if you only move 6" you can fire the other shuricannon.(assuming you payed the points to put it on there.) Your other option is war walkers, but they take up heavy slots which can be used for fire prisms, falcons, dark reapers, ect. IMO it just adds more war walkers in the fast attack choice for only a 30 or so point upgrade depending on your loadout,(mine would be scatter lasers). I would just like to know what you guys think about it.

Scatter lasers are 4 shots of S6 each. Vypers are good in two respects: They can fill gaps in the gun line (if there is this last Berzerker that needs to die) and can contest in the 'last' turn.

They look to be best used as harrassers.
Nipping around the back of an army, and popping in and out of cover?
Don't they work well in jetbike armies, being protected by guardian squads?

Against a mech army it worked for me to go flat out in the first turn which made my opponent think that I will aim for his back armor in the next turn so he directed all his anti tank fire at the vyper unit. Now, 10 isn't very much armor, but the 3+ cover save worked, so they did their job as a fire magnet and left my war walkers, falcon and fire prism unharmed. Job done.

I would think they would. It frees up more of your force. I posted a list using some in the list section. I would love to play jetbikes its just at $20 a bike its too exspensive, maybe ebay shall have the answer

This saddens me greatly.

Try to find shining spear boxes, they include the same jetbikes as single boxes and usually you save atleast a bit. I found an old box from the store and got it with discount for 18e. I think that's pretty cheap for 3 jetbikes..

If you're using falcons or prisms (and hence your heavy slots are filled up and you can't take warwalkers) then vypers are a good way to pack more str6 shooting into your list.
I use the scatterlaser/shuricannon version in squadrons of 2 or 3.

I run a jet bike army and started taking 3 vypers with starcannons just to help shoot a few of those FNP types or Terminators. While it's not the greatest, last few games they did ok and as a bonus they took fire away from my 2 prisms.
I find that the 12" move and range of the weapons means you don't need to get near anything. And with 6 shots others do need to deal with them or else lose 2 or 3 things a round. Even more when you guide them.
Walkers I find do well with scatter due to the # of shots, but in CC they are no where near as nice as a Dread, no power weapons attacks, and the front armor is low, meaning they can be assaulted and then held up. Vypers can't, if they survive they can run at least.

Vypers are totally viable for an Eldar force. Basically, you build your army in the following order, stopping when you run out of points:
1) Farseer
2) DA in WS
3) DA/Storm Guardian in WS
4) Fire Dragons in WS
5) 2 Fire Prisms
6) DA/Storm Guardian in WS or Jetbikes
7) 2nd Farseer or upgrade to Eldrad
8) War Walkers
9) 2nd Farseer or upgrade to Eldrad
10) Fire Dragons in WS
Now, if you still have points left over to spend, you do one of the following:
Seer council on Jetbikes, Warp Spiders, or Vypers
Vypers are my least favorite of the 3 options, but I think they're totally viable. Just, don't even think about skipping 1-10 in order to take Vypers.
Although, if you're allowing FW models, go with Hornets or Wasp Walkers over Vypers.

I bought some Jetbikes for 6 GBP per bike at Wayland Games. This is for me about 7 Euro per bike, which is acceptable. I won't field 20 of those things, though.
