I have some strong tone I've barely used, and a bunch of GK to paint. I was planning on using a black wash over the silver armor, but would the Quickshade look better? Anyone have any examples?

Check the gallery section of the army painter website. I'm pretty sure there's some pics of silver army and quickshade.

Unfortunately for you, my assumption would be that Dark Tone (the black one) would be the color to use for silver armor. I could be wrong though.

Scroll through there. Over onto the next page as well. The chap is doing exactly what you propose.

Ah thanks so much!! Looks like it works!

He is using the dark tone though... maybe I can find someone to trade my strong tone with :(

If you can find an Ace Hardware nearby, pick up some Minwax polyshades Tudor. It's pretty darn close to Dark Tone. You'd probably want to test it on one model (you can use mineral spirits to take it off before it dries if you don't like it) but if you don't like it, you're only out 4-8 bucks and a repaint of one model.
