Wondering: How big is the macharius Super-Heavy tank, compared to a land raider?

I am just guessing, but I would venture that it compares well with a landraider

Yeah? Though, I suppose I could also put it this way - How big is a vulcan mega-bolter compared to a land raider?

Okay, I am now at home instead of work, so I had a chance to investigate this.

I anticipate if you took, say, a land raider sponson weapon armor and compared it with the razorback weapon cover, and compared the two, then picked the bigger: I think that's the appropriate housing size. Obviously; wrong shape and coverage. Im actually almost wondering it It wouldn't be ideal to use the armor plates from the defiler's front claws.

By my eyes, the scale give-away is the front sectiotion by the tracks. If you look at that little... I dont know, horizontal piston right near the front where the treads flip over, its identical to the leman russ, so by extending the leman russ and widening it, you get a land-raider sized vehicle. The macharius definately has some mass over the land raider, but its definately not bane-blade sized. Actually the entire side-section is identical to a leman russ. As another reference, look at the shadowsord/stormlord. The multi-mega-awesome-can'trememberwhatitscalled-bolter is identical, so you can't go wrong with a landraider.

As far as I can see, the only work you'll have to do is add a bit of bulk extending backward from your landaider, and build up.

I think I see what you want to do. Trick is, you'd have to spin your land raider around 180*..... It would do the trick though... Not sure what currency youre using, but I easilly see you saving 20-30GBP by making your own build and then whatever the cost of shipping on top of that... And if you are salvaging the left over parts from your shadowsord/stormlord..... I see your savings racking up pretty well.

Well, in truth I'm mainly thinking about how putting the mega-bolter on a land raider would look, so I'm just curious bout the proportions.

megabolter on a landraider as it is.... hmm... I think it's doable, it just wouldnt look right without that extra bulk. You'd have to replace the middle section on the front armor, and I think the megabolter from the SBlade would fit inside no problem.

What exactly is your plan?

just had a think:

What about mounting them as sponsons? It would be quite a bit of work. They could be magnetized in, the trick is, you'd have to cover both doors on account of the ammunition for the darn thing.... (essentially shaping the sponson to look similar to the leman russ sponsons)

Well, I just though the Vulcan MB could work well as a Marauder cannon.
Maybe the LR Achilles with its TF Cannon would be more easier to use, as the MB might be a bit clumsy for a LR?

The reason I find it awkward si because there are two sets of barrels. IF you had only one set of Megabolter barrels for your LR, That to me would fly no problem, two at the front, that starts at least to my eyes, look clumsy without adding extra bulk.

Precisely. So maybe the Thunderfire would look better.

Even though the mega-bolter (which by the way sounds far too Orky) is much cooler. I might have to chaosify a Stormlord...

Thanks anyway.
