I love me some green tide but my lack of AT is kinda hurting me. I have about 90 shoota boyz and after considering battle wagons, I just am not a fan of vehicles. I really enjoyed putting together the 1 killa kan I have done so far so I am considering going all out.

I am considering dropping a loota squad for Snikrot and some Kommandos.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Do it.

I played a tourney with mine for the first time. Never played orks before. I came in second and would have came in first if I had played a little better in the very last game.

So, that makes me feel like it is competitive.

Still, is't just fun to play. You got 11 walkers you have to manage to keep around the meks, 100 goons running around behind them, and you are throwing in x-factors like deff coptas.

Do it!

Oh and snick rot and crew vs lootas comes down to preference. I think two squads of lookas, 3 x deffcoptas, and snick rot krumping the enemy in their own deployment zone will buy you time on turns 1-3 to dominate everything from your table edge to midfield and beyond.

One piece of advice on the kans: they do not need to Go toe to toe with hard close combat units. THSS terminators mulch them, for example.

You may know this already!

Would it be better to run the boyz mobs as sluggas or shootas or maybe a 2:1 shoota:slugga ratio? I have been debating it on paper. Anything I shoot will be getting a 4+ cover save as I will be shooting through the Kanz, but things like Space Marines get a 4+ save anyway. The only big difference it would make is on things like 'nids, guard, and other orks. I do like the idea of a purely dakka army.

its fine to mix, just have more shootas than slugga/choopas. 2:1 would be fine imho but if your moving pretty slow shootas are the way to go.

I do shootas and have not looked back..

the one thing I am going to say is its going to be very hard to cover the kans and dreads. I just run 6 kans and 3 dreads and thats enough to deal with..but non the less.

GOOD LUCK!

Hargus56,
Your list looks scary ugly.

Be sure to walk through the recent FAQ and what it means to the KFF and the walkers. Check with your TO on how he calls it.

And before anyone tells me it is "crystal clear", there's a few pages on YMDC of nerd-rage on the subject. That alone says it's a bit muddy.
