So I've decided to downsize my army lists to just 1000 and 2500 points. Here is what I'm thinking for my wives' Dark Elves.
Dreadlord w/ Armor of Eternal Serv., Soulrender, Shield, Sea Dragon Cloak
199
Sorceress w/ Lv2, Tome of Furion, Talisman of Endurance
180
24 Warriors w/ shields, full command
183
10 RXB's w/ musician, shields
115
10 RXB's w/musician
105
5 Cold One Knights
135
5 Shades
80
Total Army Cost: 997

Looks solid. I would personally drop Soulrender and try to pick up the Whip of Agony (I would pick up the spare points by dropping shields from the one unit of Xbows).

At this low point level, the Dread is just too expensive for what he does. You'll get most of the effect for much less cost by using a Master instead. And using Soulrender without the POK (and a 2+ armor save) means it's all too likely he will be killed before he ever gets to swing. Either Crimson Death (S6) or the Whip of Agony (S5 AP +1 attack) will work much better.

The reason for the Dread is that I can't fit a Master and a Sorcerer in this point level.

I wouldn't use warriors, they get killed to fast for me.

Everything in our list dies quickly. T3 AS 5+ is as good as our infantry gets... which is pretty darn squishy. We don't even have a heavy infantry choice that can carry a shield!
At least Warriors are cheap enough to have a lot of them. But I prefer RXBs for a) the truly ridiculous volume of shooting they generate, and b) being the toughest infantry we have, since they actually have a parry save on top of that 5+ armor.
