Over the hills and far away.

Ok so i brought the new Vamp Counts Necromancer yesterday. He's pretty spiff looking but i want him to stand out a little bit so i was thinking i want to paint his staff like its carved from those blueish green etheral trees you see in the VC army book.

Sorry i can find a better pick.

If anyone knows how to paint this or can point me towards a guide i would much appreciate it.

start with a basecoat of hawk turquoise, then keep adding white and drybrush it on or use the wood techniques ive seen somewhere

Another way similar to that tutorial is you could prime black then proggresively drybrush grey towards the top eventually using white. Basically shading the entire model, then just wash with thraka green carefully.

It's what I did for this spirit, although I also used the blue wash with the green and focused the brightness of the shading more to the mask rather than the top.

The easiest way to get that finish would be to prime white and use GW blue and Green washes thinned down( or use Hawk Turquoise very thinned down into a wash).

Washing will give you a "cleaner" finish than drybrushing.
