So, I've been thinking. Black Templars are what, a 3rd edition codex? So that means that sooner or later, they are getting a codex update, unless GW just gives them a mini-dex like with witch hunters. But i've just got this feeling that if they do get a new codex, they are going to be pretty badass. I have afeeling that they are going to be such a top tier assault army that they will leave blood angels in the dust. Is anybody feeling the same thing? Does anybody know anything about if they are getting a new codex or not? And if so, when? And does anybody have an idea about what they might be like, or want to wishlist what they want them to be like? Also, if i'm wrong and they arn't a 3rd edition codex, i'm sorry, i don't have the 'dex.

There are rumors of a BT codex coming out soon for 6 edition.

They're a 4th ed codex and mini dexes like the Witch Hunters haven't been made since 3rd. There's a lot of rumors that they will be one of the first releases of 6th ed, if not the first release.

Wow so much misinformation here. Don't forget that Blood Angles got the WD mini dex treatment like Sisters of Battle are getting.

So saying this wasn't done since 3rd edtions is so false.

Minidex usually refers to the tiny pamphlet codices from 3rd ed, not a WD dex. I don't think Templars will get a WD codex as the Blood Angels did, considering BA had a very out of date 3rd ed book where most entries said "refer to Codex: Space Marines" - between getting rid of allies in the new Sisters and GK codices, it's just GW wanting to get rid of any inter-codex dependency. BT will get a real codex, I can pretty much guarantee it.

They could always remove Black Templars as a separate codex and just pencil them in as one of the many chapters in the vanilla marine book.

Wouldn't that suck?

I don't see GW effectively limiting their number of Space Marine codices to sell.
