So far I've only ever bought plastic models but there's a few models that I love but I'm a bit scared of them because they're metal. Can you clean the metal models with a knife? I have the GF9 blade and I use it to clean everything on my plastic models. I don't have any files ATM, are they needed for metal models? If so what is a good quality set to get me started?

Thanks for any advice.

Aren't those Finecast models supposed to be pretty awful? The model I want is this one: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440264a&prodId=prod1730000 and he only comes in metal so far.

I believe that Snitroc is finecast now. It is also my understanding that a hobby knife should be all that is needed to clean finecast models, as a file needs to be careful as it destroys detail very quickly. as for metal models a nice file can work a like charm, so a couple different shapes is something that is a good investment. I believe that I have a Galeforce 9 set (8 or 10 different shapes and grits, around 15 bucks, I think) and those work for me quite nicely.

Hmm, I can't find him in Finecast, do you have a link?
