This is a model that I have been wanting to do for some time. He will count as a Demon Prince for normal games. I basically wanted to build an ultimate Iron Warriors Warsmith...a Warsmith that just couldn't leave well enough alone. Simple bionics were too tame, so he replaced everything!

http://s1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd516/Paul_Kurtenbach/Warhammer%20pics/Chaos%20Dreadsmith/

I used a chimera "keyed" turret to make the jump pack removable. I plan on building a backpack with large servo-arm for Apoc games. I am especially happy with the way the Defiler claw melded into the arm.

There is about 30 hours into it so far...with a few more to go. Comments welcome and appreciated.

Looks interesting.
I'd try and smooth out the green stuff on the front but don't listen to me; I'm no good at green stuffing.

The only question I have is, where are the hazard stripes going to go??

-giggle-

It looks like he's hiding for someone...

But it is very cool, I like the weapons and such. It might be a bit too large for a DP though.

I am going to add defiler "armor" on the legs, so the hazard stripes will be on them and on the claw itself along with the weapon. Check out my defhino for an idea how it will look.

I know there is more work on it. I plan on using a smoothing putty to help with the green stuff. Going to need new files to help out.

It is big...but bigger is better! I probably would not use it in a competitive match, but it sure works great for a fun game!

Thanks for the comments!

Seconded, just grab some sand paper and go to town. Rougher at first then finish with a light wet sand. Also for GSing remember that the GS is softer at first so its easier to shape but as it cures i find it's easier to make smooth edges. There's definitely a window there and it depends on how you mix it.

Super awesome conversion, great idea!

i love the conversion, the gun is a problem to me though, his fingers aren't pulling a trigger, there is actually no trigger. Now I know that may be a hard thing to fix, but any sort of way to make him look like he is actually weilding the gun would make the model much better.

besides that its a great concept, and your going about it very well! Can't wait to see it painted.

I agree! Thanks for pointing that out. I have been looking at him for almost a week, and that detail slipped by. I think I have an idea.

Thanks for the comment!

One of the best uses of the NDK kit I've seen well done.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

One of the best uses for a Grey Knight model, Turn it into something super chaosy, BLASPHEMY i say, but im likeing how this looks

ImperialFists: 2000+
GK: WIP
"Do not ask me to approach the battle meekly, to creep through the shadows, or to approach my foes quietly in the dark. I am Rogal Dorn. Imperial Fist. Space marine. Emperor's Champion. Let my enemy's cower at the thunder of my advance and tremble at the sight of me."

40k Ninja, I used boltgun and then washed heavy badab black and light devlan mud.

I plan on making a canopy once I get the rest of the chest done. Should be interesting.

A few new pics...Changed the cockpit, added exhausts, cleaned up GS in multiple places, removed the terminator "waist" section and replaced with 4 pound magnets so that the model can still break down for travel. I need to get him painted for the local GW competition, but I will be adding a warhammer/fireman axe with pick as an alternate weapon soon.

The gun looks like it needs some decoration on it, and if you moved the head so it was looking to the side, it would flow much better. All in all though, looking really good.

That is one mighty fine looking model. I can almost hear the maniacle sound of metallic laughter echoing from it as it stomps across the battlefield. Excellent stuff.

I plan on painting safety stripe on the sides for sure. May add more "gingerbreading" at some point.

Thanks for the comments.
