Can anyone tell me much about this? I've flicked through the book and a mate and me are going to start a historical game. This one was suggested to us and seems quite good. Could anyone help the decision? Anything is useful most likely.

Expect my posts to have a bazillion edits. I miss out letters, words, sometimes even entire sentences in my points and posts.

Hail Caesar is a fun, flexible, intuitive game. The basic rules are really pretty easy to pick up & if something seems right - its probably the right way to play it. The game is unit based, and while the recommended units are rather large, you can play at any size/scale that you and your opponent can agree to.

The game does not come with army lists in the style of 40K or WFB. Rather, the game provides unit stats to use as building blocks. The book also provides half a dozen detailed examples of how this is applied. If you are new to historicals, you'll need to do a bit of reading or find out side sources (like WAB army books or DBA lists) to help put a list together.
