Subject: CSM: do I have to cut the bolters?

Hi all,
maybe a stupid question, but I just started my CSM army and wanted to assemble the space marines from the battleforce. Now, I can't seem to find out how to put the bolters to the arms. The left arm is the one holding the barrel, sure, but the right one has already a bolter handle in its hand while the bolter has a hande of itself. Do I have to gut off the handle on the bolter and then just glue it to the arm?
Feeling kinda lost with this, I don't wanna destroy the bolters and then discover that I was wrong

Yeah, cut the bolter handle off and glue it in the hand. The handles are there so you have more options for putting them together, using them on bases, etc.

If you catch yourself needing to make a storm-bolter or in the CSM Case a twinlink bolter, before you glue them together side-by-side, take the insides of the two, and file them down so they fit together flush.
also, welcome to the world of enjoying working with bolters. (making them combi-weapons, adding auxiliary grenade launchers, mounting IG lasguns as laser sights....)

Thanks for the warm welcome *g* I already stumbled into the next thing: if I wanna use them as chosen I need a lot more of melta guns than are included. Any ideas how to get more of them in a good way? I don't feel like modelling 4 pieces out of green stuff

yup. $8 for 5 meltaguns is hard to beat.
The only suggestion I have, is if you are skilled with small cutting tools, is to take two styrene straws, make the 8 slices into the outside one, and slide the maller one into the inside of that one. Then you just need a small cylinder to slap onto the back of the bolter as the fuel cell.
Bolters convert into plasma guns pretty well too. Grab a lasgun magazine, slap it on the back of the bolter, cut off the magazine, file down the middle section sbove the bolter grip. All you need to add is GS for the heatsink, and the tip of the weapon(which can easilly be made with plasticard, file and a few drills.)
