I was thinking of making a considerably large swarmlord to fit with the whole supreme beefy leader thing.
I was thinking trygon body with big legs off a toy, four big swords etc and maybe a zoanthrope head with a large horn to represent its massive psychic capacity.
thing is, would it work? would the zoey head be too big( i have no zoanthropes to cut up to test im afraid) and also, any ideas/photos for the legs please which could be fitted?

Does it mean anything to your life if you so happen to be the bad guy in every computer game and warhammer army you play? I'm Nice really!

The phrase "legs off a toy" worries me a lot. A Zoanthrope is an awfully expensive model to cut up also. I've seen Trygons into Swarmlords before though, with some people going so far as to keep the serpentine tail.

HHmmm. So you want to do a challaenge making a Swamlord? It would be the first thing someone would see on the battlefield. I just made both of my swarmlords out of hive tyrants with 4 paulson games bio swords each.

You would dare cut up a Godzilla toy?? I may just weep. Still i like the idea of a huge Swarmlord. What about using plasicard for the boneswords and then some greenstuff for thickness. Beacuse i dont think the bone sword you get with the tyrant will be big enough will it?

I liked the size of the Swarmlord in Dawn of War 2: Retribution. It was about 50% larger than a traditional Hive Tyrant, and OH-SO mean.
A psychic-looking head can be made from the Trygon parts. Just some creative bit-bashing from the Mawloc bits; I saw someone use those very pieces to make a Doom of Malan'tai, in fact. I'll see if I can't find them.
There are good boneswords available from other sites, but they are often comically oversized, and look nothing like a Tyranid bio-weapon, so I'd consider an alternative. Making them can be a pain, however, unless you are an excellent sculptor. Perhaps a slightly modified, and enlarged set copied from the Hive Tyrant's boneswords would be in order? A little plastic card, green stuff, and a whole lotta love.

Thankyou for the advice. i may atempt a large swarmlord. i thing a small one is more "gamer friendly" but a towering monstrousity wielding hugs lumps of carbon seems to excite me... i was thinking two layers of thin plasticard carved then modeled onto sything talon arm outstreched with large toxin sacs at bottom wired with the small pipe off the bottom of the barbed strangler. as for head, i kinda want the brain matter and my green stuff isn't that good. any ideas? Automatically Appended Next Post: *huge* ahem damn spelling,

Razor Saw to cut the Carnifex up, Dremel to carve down the plasticard. Leaves you with a good bit of gap filling and covering with sculpting putty.
The Tyrant vents were plasticard carved into shape with a Dremel as well.
And indeed, Paulson's Bio-Swords are really good.

I like it overall. But there is one thing the swarlord has that that doesn't. A tail that splits into two. But overall nice
