I've heard some weird things about the Emperor. Specifically, like he was in the Egyptian empire, lived for thousands of years, had an actual name, ect. I am guessing the Horus Heresy series will eventually find it's way to the siege on the Emperor's palace, but I don't think I've seen a single bit of dialog or personal decision from the Emperor, past making the space marines and uniting the planets in a general sense. I am curious, is there any cannon sources that go further into the emporer?

We don't know too much about the Emperor's background from the canon(cannons fire, canon doesn't ).

IIRC he is born in Africa about 10,000 BC

Perhaps he has an affair with the mistress of Pharaoh Seti I—other men are forbidden to touch her. When the Pharaoh discovers their tryst, thye murder the monarch. He and his priests flee across the desert to Hamunaptra, the city of the dead but are caught by Seti's guards. He is forced to endure the curse of Hom Dai: his tongue is cut out, and he is buried alive with a swarm of flesh-eating scarabs but later awakened by an American adventurer and a English archealogist

According to Mechanicum, the Emperor was the inspiration for the story behind St. George and the Dragon, when the Emperor fought and defeated the Dragon (the C'tan).

The Emperor - a turkey?

Spoiler:

Was I wrong to deem asia minor running a different name back in the day?

I think there is "the last church", where the Emperor, beloved by all, talks with a priest about religion.

Anatolia, to be more specific.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

Then why is the Emperor always depicted as a Native American?

@OP: Read First Heretic, the Emperor speaks to Lorgar there and you see his awesome psykic power.

The Emperor's only psychic trick he uses on more than one occasion is making himself appear different.

That is Imhotep the First who is an egyptian royal priest. While the historical figure is a fact, the story is false, and was a movie from 1999 called The Mummy, which I'm sure is where you got this little tale from.

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
