Subject: Which army?

H, I am new to this forum. This question has been asked many, many times, which army should I choose? I crrently own a 1000pt Eldar army but I ahve found them too hard as I have only been playing 40k for a while, I am now torn between Necrons, Imperial Guard and Vanilla Space Marines. I love th feel and look of each army and money is no object. Each of thee rmies has what I like, powerfull infantry (through quantity and qualiy), powerfull heavy support and a great paint job. So it has come down to, which is easiest to play. Alos, is it true that Necrons become vry borng because of their lack of choice?

I voted Necrons because they have a new codex coming out soon. I'd wait until that comes out to make a decision. Chances are they are going to be awesomely good, even more so if you like their fluff. I'm personally very excited about the new release and plan on resurrecting my Necron army as soon as it comes out.

I went with Sapce Marines because they are a good starter army and there are a lot of Space Marine armies (e.g. Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Black Templars, ect.)

Space marines do make a good starter army.
And they are GW's poster boys.

Necrons would be a poor choice at this particular point in time I feel. If you really want to do them, wait until they get redone as they'll likely be very different and have many new models. Their current book is probably the worst in terms of competitive ability in 5E.
I'd say go with Imperial Guard. You can do so much the the army and the book, you can have tank hordes, infantry hordes, aircraft, big guns, commandos, big tanks, fast tanks, and everything in between, and no other army has the visual range that the IG have from so many distinct model lines. Only downside is that they are *NOT* a cheap army to build, and you never really finish an IG army the way you finish other armies, and transporting them can be an issue.
Space Marines are dime a dozen, but fairly easy to pick up and play and really easy to paint, but you'll find lots of mirror matches. That said, they are rather cheap, don't look awful, and play decently.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

I f you strongly want to play necron, you can. I would suggest waiting for the new codex, but you can get a basic 1000 point army of necrons and still be sure that most all of the models will be useable in the new codex.

Space marines are good starting armies, good Armour saves, good stat-lines, and you can play you style of gaming! Want CC? Blood angels do fine? Want range? Then go Dark Angels. Each army lets you have options to play different styles of gameplay, while all remaining good all around( Actually, ultramarines are the best all-around generalistic army for SM)

I said Marines. Yes, they have a bad reputation for being for "newbies" or for kids, but the point is this. They are one of the easier armies to pick up, and seeing as thats what you asked for, it's your best bet in my opinion.
