I changed up my list a bit.

pStryker
-Ironclad
-Charger
Journeyman Warcaster
-Hunter
Arcane Tempest Gunmages with UA
Minimum Trenchers with Officer and Sniper
Minimum Field Mechanics

And, making his debut in my army...Rheinholdt!

Josh's Circle:

pKrueger
-Argus
-Feral Warpwolf
-Megalith
Black Clad Druid
Tharn Wolf Riders
Tharn Bloodtrackers with Nuala
Shifting Stones with UA

Josh chose to deploy first. The peanut shaped bit of terrain was declared as forest. The Blood Trackers preyed the Trenchers. The Wolf Riders preyed the Hunter.

I set up a fairly standard gun-line. I put the Hunter in a forested hill. Not so great against Circle, but just to keep in the tactic for forces it might matter against - plus the hill shooting bonus. Trenchers advanced deployed, dug in.

Turn 1: Circle moves forward as you would expect them to. Megalith trampling. Shifting stones teleporting. Blood Trackers move on to their hill.

My trenchers cautiously advance, I love that Officer. Gun Mages take sniped shots at the Blood Trackers, and fail to kill anything. The Hunter killed a Wolf Rider.

Turn 2: The Wolf Riders charge the Hunter, but are unable to do any serious damage. The Blood Trackers cut the Trenchers number in half, yet they stand firm. The Black Clad fails to get off a Hunter's Mark. Megalith fails a chain lightning. Krueger cast Tornado killing bodgers, and then feats to finish off the Field Mechanic.

The Ironclad goes forth and tremors, knocking the Feral Warpwolf down. The Charger and Stryker fail to capitalize on the opening to Krueger. The Hunter disengages and takes out another Wolf rider, causing the survivor to flee. Junior and the Gun Mages graze the knocked down Feral. The Trenchers manage to kill 2 Blood Trackers.

Turn 3: The Argus paralyzes Junior and the Charger. The last Wolf Rider runs off. The Blood Trackers kill the trenchers and some gun mages. Megalith throws the Ironclad at Stryker. The Feral charges Stryker and risks frenzy to make sure the assassination happens.

Not a good day for Stryker.

Lessons learned: The Hunter and Junior make a good combo (yeah, I know). Need to remember to use Rheinholdt to the fullest. I need a better tar pit for units like the Blood Trackers. Something that can keep them from using Quick Work.
