Greetings. I am looking into Modern wargamming. I have found a miniature company that I like (Empress) and would like to find vehicles that would fit in the same scale. What is your experience with buying tanks and other vehicles. I have heard that 1/35 scale models work the best. Is there a manufacturer who makes tanks or is it best to stick with tamiya, etc?

1/35th will not work, that is equivalent to 54mm figures.
1/48th can work, but is large.
What you want are 1/56th vehicles from the likes of;

I don't think this is correct. 54mm (generally measured from base to eye) would be far to big for 1/35 scale vehicles......1/35 would suit miniatures around 40mm from base to eyes.

Didn't Mongoose do a range of modern/near future minis in 28mm?

Nope... 54mm figures are generally seen as the nearest match to 1/35th.
54mm are actually 1/32nd the old Airfix scale from the 1960s.
1/48th is 36mm.

Nah... The vehicles were around 1/64th... a really odd scale and varied massively.

1:48 vehicles work if you mount your models on those bevelled bases. I personally use some 1:48 Tamiya tanks over 28mm WWII vehicles for my WWII stuff. True, 1:48 is bigger, but I like my tanks to have a bit more mass to them.
