I attached the Venerable Dread's front sarcophagus and rounded it out with Milliput, then put a spare GK head in to tie the dread to the rest of my army.

The arms are Forgeworld, but the torso is GW Ironclad. The base is also FW. I'm particularly proud of this one, tell me what you think! Too many hazard stripes?

It's a nice conversion. I always love the ominous look of a hurricane bolter.

Your hazard stripes seem a little crooked though. A friend of mine recently recommended using masking tape when making stripes like this, which might help you. The paint on the body looks a little thick, but that's an easy fix. Either give it a couple of washes, a couple of drybrushes, or both, and you add a lot more depth.

I like the blocky profile. You've combined your parts in an appropriately industrial way to hold up the right feel for the Imperium.

First of all, there's no such thing as too many hazard stripes! However, you could stand to make them straighter. Get some masking tape; you can get some really thin (as thin as 1/8") tape from an auto parts store and use it to mask off the areas for more consistent and straight stripes.

Your paint all looks like it could use another thin coat. A lot of the primer underneath is showing through and muddying up your painting.

You've got some alright skills and your dread looks really natural with the Forgeworld arms, you've just gotta reach the next level!

As said above masking tape is a great way to do stripes. The red looks like it could use another layer as well.

Here is the thing though. When a mini is done, let it be. You'll want the chance to look back on your progress, and if you're constantly touching up old work then you'll ruin that for yourself.

Also let me say that besides that the slightly crooked stripes (those aren't easy. I learned that the hard way too. ) that model is awesome! Great use of different bits to make a custom model that still fits wonderfully.

Gah, masking tape was my problem! I never got it on quite right and the paint always ran underneath it and blurred the lines. So I just freehanded it as best I could, and called it a finished mini.

I suspect that may be related to the milliput not being completely smooth. I molded the parts on right before I left on a weeklong vacation and I never really got a chance to make sure it cured correctly - my room has huge temperature swings in the summer :/

In other areas it might be the unfortunately thick wash I applied - it worked well most places but my old brush turned wash brush is getting a bit too old.

Thanks for the criticisms and compliments guys!
